Pros: Installation is simply plugging one end into your router and the other end into the Nano. The second unit plugs into your remote computer or Ethernet capable device and plugging it into the wall. I set up encryption between the two units by pressing the Pair button on each unit. Literally it only a few minutes and you're up and running. I used a dual boot Windows 7 & UNIX Laptop to test performance in various locations throughout the house. What I found was that I got virtually the same download speeds anywhere in the house, even in a remote bedroom on the 2nd floor that always had been a weak spot for wireless reception, yet I got 5 bars and full speed. Speed tests were run against 3 local servers, one out of state, and another in Mexicali, Mexico and all returned download speeds within approximately 5% of each other when preformed at several locations in the house, including in that distant bedroom. Both my HDTV and Blu-Ray player have built in wireless, yet they never performed well enough despite being within 25 feet of the router so I had to run a long cable to the Blur-Ray player to get Netflix and other apps. Plugged in the TL-PA2010 and hooked it up to the Blu-Ray and it works great with no pauses while watching a movie. It wakes up from standby mode within a few seconds of turning on the device that it is connected to. Best feature of these is that they are truly plug and play. You pair them up once and then you can pick up the second unit and take it wherever you want and just plug it in and it is working. They run so cool that there was barely any noticeable heat coming off of them after a few hours. If you need access to your wireless network in an area where reception is not good, this may just be the simple solution that you are looking for. I tried running a microwave and an old table fan while watching a movie and found that they had no effect on it, and I even had an AM radio plugged in and there wasn't any static either. Even though the manufacturer said not to hook these up to an extension cord, I wanted to try it out and took a 50 foot cord, plugged it into a garage outlet, and the Nano in the other end and had my Laptop running an online "How to Repair" video under the hood of my car parked at the curb without any glitches. Overall I have been quite impressed with the ease of use of this product and it has performed flawlessly.

Cons: None to report as these units have worked exactly as designed. The provided cables were about 2 meters long which was fine with me, though others may like them longer or shorter. They are yellow and in keeping with the unit's small and unobtrusive profile it probably would have been better for the cables to have been white to match the units.

Overall Review: This Powerline Adapter certainly works as advertised and has its place in providing reliable networking to areas that do not get good wireless reception. There are of course other solutions such as wireless repeaters that can also provide this as well, though they generally cost more, and may not always work well. The portability and ease of use are a real plus, but you also need to have devices that have LAN ports so that is a consideration. Another consideration is the age your house since most homes built since around 2005 have AFCI breakers and these may interfere with these devices. My home does not have AFCI breakers. I checked the manufacturer’s website and was unable to find out if these devices were compatible with AFCI breakers. If you are uncertain if you have them, there is a site showing all of the States and when they adopted this standard in their electrical codes. My advice would be to think about what you are trying to accomplish and then decide on what type of product might best help you to achieve that objective given the equipment that you want to get access into your network. These Powerline adapters worked great for streaming movies and had consistent download speeds everywhere that I plugged them in.

Pros: Initial installation is just plugging them in and they’re up within a few seconds. Internet performance was very close to what I was getting by simply plugging my laptop directly into the Wi-Fi router. Tests conducted at several locations throughout the house (2 –story) maintained virtually the same speed with the worst download test coming back with 16.05 Mbps at the farthest location while the best was 17.36 Mbps over a DSL line rated at 20Mbps. This range is close enough to the 17.82 that I was getting when plugged directly into the router as to not be noticeable for streaming a Netflix movie without any pausing. The units come with a built in outlet so that you don’t lose an outlet by plugging them in, which may or may not be much of a concern depending on how many outlets you have. Even though the built in outlet is available and has some noise filtering, the manufacturer cautions against plugging in certain appliances which may generate noise or interference. These devices are IEEE 1901 and HomePlug Av compliant which means that they should be able to be used with other HomePlug compliant devices.

Cons: This product is rated at 500Mbps yet the best that it ever recorded according to the supplied monitoring utility was 154Mbps. This is only measuring the speed between the devices, and the Ethernet connection from the first device to the router was rated at a max of 100Mbps and out to the Internet was even slower at a 20Mbps maximum. Overall throughput to the Internet is governed by the slowest part. If the connection was to an internal networked server then the faster device to device speed could be of use. All Powerline devices advertising 500Mbps are talking about a theoretical possibility that just doesn’t exist in a real world situation. Once I tried setting up security and changing the SSID is when the problems began. I had the full manual pulled up as a .pdf and went step-by-step and when I reset the SSID and set up a password it worked for a couple of minutes and then it was showing an error that the units could no longer see each other, it was as if their encryption had gotten corrupted. There was no way to correct this problem from the management utility so I hit the reset button on both units to get them back to factory defaults. Once they were reset they started communicating again, so I tried to change the SSID and password again and both units dropped out of the list of known devices in the panel in the management utility and could no longer be managed and stopped working. I repeated the reset process and they started communicating using the factory defaults. I was able to use the sync button feature to allow the units to randomly set up a new network name and key. The inability of the management utility to properly manage the devices is a major drawback for a high end kit like these. Another problem I encountered was when I tried to plug in the power adapter for my laptop and it wouldn’t go in all the way. Rather than trying to jam it in I pulled it out and looked into the slot and saw that there was a piece of plastic blocking the inside of one of the plug slots, probably leftover from the injection molding. I unplugged the device and was able to work this piece of plastic out with a knife, but this kind of thing should not have happened in the first place if more attention were paid to the construction and assembly process. Had I just jammed the plug in when I first noticed the resistance, then it probably would have broken that piece free and pushed down into the plug slot rendering it useless.

Overall Review: These units are high priced yet they didn’t perform any better than a pair of Nano Powerline adapters that I have that are rated at 200Mbps and cost 1/3 of what these adapters cost. Additionally, the lower priced units perform perfectly all of the time. At this price level there is an expectation that the performance and quality would be higher, though that was not my experience. The manufacturer said in the included paper guide/manual to not plug these into a power strip, GFI, or surge protector which is common for any Powerline adapter, as they should be plugged directly into a wall outlet. The manufacturer also explicitly stated that these devices are not compatible with AFCI circuit breakers. AFCI circuit breakers were adopted by most State electrical codes by around 2005 and some earlier, so if you have a house that is under 10 years old, then you may have them. There are many variables in homes and their electrical wiring that can affect how well Powerline adapters may work so it is difficult to know for sure until you actually try them out. The claims of 500Mbps are simply an exaggeration and only theoretical, and for many folks they would see similar performance for Internet browsing and streaming movies if they used a 200Mbps adapter which are available at a fraction of what these units cost. I would rate these at 2 ½ if that was available, but they get a weak 3. They worked in “bare bones” mode but not well enough to justify their premium price, and the management utility was not able to allow for proper setting up and security management without corrupting them and forcing them to be reset. There are better solutions out there.

Pros: Have two of these and they work great and are able to detect the power needs of the device plugged in and adjust and charge them correctly. Don't have any Apple products but have charged Samsung phones and tablets without issue, as well as a number of other devices without any problems

Cons: None, works well.

Overall Review: The only thing that keeps me wondering about this and practically every other consumer electronic device out there now is that they're made in China where true quality control takes a back seat to producing something cheaply for a quick sale. Also don't know if their claims to have passed certain standards are true or not. Being suspicious of most Chinese made products isn't paranoia given their track record, and I never leave anything plugged in while I am sleeping.

Pros: These work great in my Dell as this older laptop will only support up to 1600 at CAS 11. There are some faster chipsets available, but they weren't assured to work in this Dell. I have used G.Skill before and have never had any problems whatsoever. I bought 16 GB Simms rated at 1866 for a desktop and have them running at 2400 without any overheating or hiccups. I must have lucked out and got some chips with a lot more headroom than they were advertised as, and have been running stable for a year now. These are well made and did the job, and the Dell proprietary BIOS picked them up and configured them on first boot without and problems. Haven't had any crashes or anything. Even though memory is expensive now, these will get the job done and tests have shown there isn't very much difference between CAS 11 and CAS 9 so why take a chance with compatibility if your system doesn't say it is compatible.

Cons: None, work great.

Overall Review: Sometimes the manufacturer won't specify a faster chipset as being compatible, yet folks try a faster kit and they'll work. In my case this older Dell is pretty much locked down and though I read somewhere else that someone claimed they put some CAS 9 1866 memory in one of these and it worked, I am skeptical and didn't feel it was worth the potential hassle to find it wouldn't work in mine.

Pros: Update 3/4/17: I have had this router for a year and a half and it has performed flawlessly for all of this time. The signal stays strong even when going through a floor and walls. I have this sitting on top of an old laptop cooler and that keeps it nice and cool and I think I have only rebooted it twice in all of this time. Stable and trouble free, just they way I like my equipment. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this again if I needed one, but mine is running fine with no indication that it won't continue to do so for some time into the future. I feel having it on top of the cooler has helped to extend its lifespan along with its reliability, and if the cooler dies I will get another one just for the router. =================================================================================== Just got this, but wanted to say that I am impressed with it so far. It took a couple of on/off cycles with the modem and router to get them to sync up, but once they did everything was so easy to set up as their interface is quite user friendly. It checked and then asked if I wanted to download the latest firmware and also the Genie app and ReadShare app and everything downloaded and updated without a hitch. I changed the SSID and passwords on both frequencies to match my previous router and checked and adjusted a few other settings and saved it. It could have been even more simple if I had wanted to accept their predefined SSID's and passwords for both bands. This is definitely aimed at making it very easy for folks with a wide range of technical abilities The Genie app makes it easy to get up and running and is well suited for most folks except perhaps someone who wants to have the ability to modify every possible setting which is fine as this router is aimed at the home user looking for very good performance teamed with ease of use, and NetGear has achieved that with the R6400. This appears to be very well made and signal strength is very high even in the second floor bedroom on both bands. Haven't taken a walk outside with the laptop to see how far outside it extends yet. A powerful wireless AC router with an number of contemporary features helps to make this a winner.

Cons: None so far as it is still new, but seems very stable.

Overall Review: I was a bit wary of buying from NetGear as I did not have a good experience with them in the past. Everything so far indicates that this is a well made and executed device. The router runs warm, but not hot like many others which is a real plus. I don't want to risk anything so I have it now on an old USB laptop cooler and now you can hardly feel any heat coming from it, but I think it could have run fine without this as it was only warm without the cooler. I know I am taking some risk given my past experience with NetGear, but the initial impression is that they got it right with this model. There are a number of positive reviews on other sites, however I don't put much credence in most of them as many of them are from folks who received their devices through the Friends and Family program. The router is a bit large at 7.5 x 7.75 x 2.5 inches and wedge shaped and lies horizontally, but I have the space so that isn't a problem. In one respect that size allows for some extra space inside to help with air circulation rather than cramming everything into a case barely large enough. I also have an Arris SB6183 16 channel cable modem and together with this router I am getting 60 - 62mbps on a hard wired PC and 60+ (5GHz) on a PC upstairs using and older 450/450 adapter card. My service is only 50/10 so the bonding of channels has allowed for me to get a little extra than I am paying for. Previously the best I could get whether hard wired or wireless was about 18 - 21mbps. Nice boost, but then the components weren't free either. Unless something unforeseen should happen, it looks like NetGear has hit a home run with this router.

Pros: A very sturdy design that is capable of standing up to everything short of a hammer. Transfer speeds are close to those stated, but it is not the fastest drive and that's OK considering the price is reasonable and this should last a long time. It will warm up during heavy activity and because it is metal it is more noticeable which is a good thing in that the metal casing is acting like a heat sink and is helping to dissipate heat more readily than a standard plastic case. Represents a good value for a drive that you can carry around without fear that you might damage it or lose the cap.

Cons: None to report.

Overall Review: As long as you aren't expecting this to be the fastest flash drive out there then you should like this as it will last a long time and not suddenly corrupt all of your files. This is very rugged and I just attached it to my key ring and toss it around with my keys without worry, and though the keys have scratched the surface some I don't care as long as I have it with me whenever I need it. It always works which I can't say for some other brands that I have owned that just stopped working at some point without warning.
