Most Critical Review

IT DOES WORK WITH HDMI (SEE OTHER THOUGHTS)

LG 21.5" IPS FHD LCD Monitor IPS 14ms (GTG) 1920 x 1080 D-Sub, DVI, HDMI IPS224V-PN
LG 21.5" IPS FHD LCD Monitor IPS 14ms (GTG) 1920 x 1080 D-Sub, DVI, HDMI IPS224V-PN

Pros: This monitor had a pretty good picture with DVI. The text was a little blurry with HDMI but I believe that to be the fault of my own janky HDMI cable. I found a different one and the text was a little better. Not as good as it was on DVI though. This may have been a defect. I was able to remove the black bars though. (See other thoughts)

Cons: I wasn't a big fan of the colors. However, I have a duel monitor setup and it didn't match my old monitor (A LG of a very similar line from about a year ago that had a more preferred feel to it) so I am biased in that respect. I am not a fan of the way the screen was lit either. It cast light from the side of the screen. You could really only tell on solid black screens but if you have minimalistic dark wallpapers it gets annoying. A pixel died on me yesterday. I have owned this for about a week. I sent it back for a refund because I am wary of more pixels dying. It may have just been a defective monitor. Mass production tends to do that.

Overall Review: The black bars around the screen when using HDMI is due to a incorrect setting in overscan/underscan. This can be adjusted on both the monitor and through your graphics drivers. Start with the graphics drivers when fixing this. The drivers will provide more flexibility than the settings built into the monitor. I can't believe people are complaining about it in these reviews. It's as if they have never heard of google... or HDMI. This is consistently a thing with HDMI. It happens on all monitors.
