5 out of 5 eggs Outperforms Various Higher Priced Intel CPUs 05/05/2017

This review is from: AMD RYZEN 5 1400 4-Core 3.2 GHz (3.4 GHz Turbo) Socket AM4 65W YD1400BBAEBOX Desktop Processor

Pros: - Fast
- Inexpensive
- Runs cool with stock cooler
- 8 threads
- Superb 1080p gaming performance when paired with a 1050ti. Handles any game I throw at it with maxed settings at 1080p.

Cons: - I replaced an i5-3470 with this CPU and I did not have any noticeable performance gains in any applications that only take advantage of up to 4 threads. If an application takes advantage of more than 4 threads, performance gains are very small (less than 10%).

Other Thoughts: While costing much less than the following CPUs, it:

- Outperforms:
i5-4460
i5-6400

- Performs equally as:
i5-3470
i5-6600
i5-6500

Most i7 CPUs will outperform this processor. This CPU is meant as a solid competitor to the i5 series and will outperform most if not all of them. This CPU will outperform all i3 and lower Intel processors at stock speeds.

Pros: Purchased back in 2008. Overclocked it to 3.0Ghz the day I bought it and it's been rock steady ever since.

Cons: None. This chip is golden.

Pros: After five years of owning this card, it still plays new titles at lower-mid settings. This is one of Nvidia's jewels.

Cons: The stock cooler doesn't blow, and that's a problem. Literally the only downside with this card is you have to purchase an aftermarket cooler. I went fan-less and never looked back.
