ASUS Desktop PC G10AC-US009S Intel Core i7 4770 (3.40 GHz) 32 GB DDR3 1 TB HDD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 Windows 8 64-Bit

Pros: Great motherboard and cpu and 32 g ram at under $1400 make this a pretty good buy. Bluetooth and antenna nice too-I've got a much better relationship with my router now. very impressive case. Totally quiet fans so far. I have not had the noise and bearing probs some people have had. Once I went through some Steam and NVIDIA trauma with Metro Last Light, I will say the game now runs very well. Handles all the older sand-boxes like S-COP and FO3 nicely. Torchlight II is beyootiful. Am waiting on Bioshock Infinite.

Cons: OEM graphics card. I am NOT pleased with this and it has cost NewEgg a star here-I wish I could make it 1.5 stars. There have been shenanigans with these ASUS gaming rigs and their OEM graphics cards for some time. NewEgg needs to correct the advertising on their site. I feel that someone owes me a full retail GTX 760. ALSO that HORRIBLE PURPLE STICKER. Please please please stop doing that to your customers. I really don't want to have to hose down my chassis with goo-gone, folks. Not amusing. Finally, instructions on set-up could be cleaner. I agree with several other reviewers-initial updates seem very slow.

Overall Review: I had the same initial freakout regarding the graphics ports and what I thought might be a non-working display. But why is only one set of display ports on the back hooked up? Nonetheless, some of the 1-* reviews should be discounted-they are not really representative of the product. Windows 8 is a teething issue. I do like the ASUS desktop. That helped a lot. I WANT MY RETAIL GTX 760!! Grr. I knew about the OEM 500 watt PS, so I won't complain about that-when the warranty expires, I'll upgrade the PS and GPU. However, I'd still buy this again-when I think what I got for 1800 in 2005 from Dell there is no comparison-in the future, the ARE no roads.

So far so good

Acer 24" 60 Hz LCD Monitor 5 ms 1920 x 1080 V246HL
Acer 24" 60 Hz LCD Monitor 5 ms 1920 x 1080 V246HL

Pros: Very clear picture, lots of adjustments possible to customize screen experience, good size compromise between smaller and HUGE OH NO MY EYES.

Cons: None that appear significant as yet. Had one really weird boot-up in which there was significant weird image distortion, but re-boot fixed that and it has not reoccurred. Would be nice if the stand were a little sturdier and if it had more physically adjustable positions.

Overall Review: For a refurbished high-end monitor, I am so far super pleased.
