Pros: Complete Intel Z170 chipset feature set, including M.2 PCI Express Gen3 x4, and USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A and Type-C Ports. The performance of the Asmedia USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports was comparable to the Intel "Alpine Ridge" USB 3.1 Gen 2 controller on my Gigabyte motherboard.
Cons: This motherboard has only 3 4-pin Fan Connectors which may not satisfy some peoples needs.
Other Thoughts: I used this motherboard in a system I built for a friend, that included an Intel i7-6700 CPU, 16GB Corsair DDR4-2666 memory, Samsung 850 EVO 256GB, ASUS STRIX GeForce GTX750TI and a Toshiba 3TB HDD. I had use of it for a few weeks while I waited for all the peripherals to be delivered. I ran benchmarks on the storage, USB ports and graphics and I was very pleased with the results. If I didn't already have a Gigabyte Z170 motherboard, I would have bought this for my system.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Antec P50 WINDOW ILLUSION Black Micro ATX Computer Case
Pros: Compact Micro ATX case.
Motherboard and storage are in separate compartments.
Comes with two 120mm case cooling fans and one 80mm fan for hard drive compartment.
Front fans can be controlled by 3-speed switch or motherboard fan management.
Can handle 240mm liquid CPU coolers.
Easy to access USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 connectors when used on top of desk.
Cons: Not usable with the ASUS GeForce STRIX GTX 960 video Card, the card is too tall.
Light weight metal and plastic construction.
The paper user manual is useless, no PDF version available.
Cheap plastic case feet.
Other Thoughts: I do like this case, even with all its shortcomings. Do your research if you intend to purchase this case.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Nice looking tool-less enclosure. The eSATA performance was good for an external enclosure with a Samsung 840 Pro 256GB:
Sequential Read: 391.942 MB/s
Sequential Write: 381.532 MB/s
The USB 3.0 performance was just average with the same drive:
Sequential Read: 221.476 MB/s
Sequential Write: 216.447 MB/s
I've read that the Asmedia USB 3.0 chipset in the new generation enclosures is much faster. Still, this easily beats all the other enclosures I own.
Cons: Finicky latching mechanism requires some finesse. No bottom feet were included. The USB 3.0 connector is slightly skewed and seems fragile.
Other Thoughts: There's no information about the chipset used in the enclosure at their web site, but they did post some reviews with benchmarks.READ FULL REVIEW
