Lenovo IdeaPad - 15.6" Dual NVIDIA GeForce GT750M Discrete Graphics (SLI) - Intel Core i7-4700MQ - 16GB Memory - 24 GB SSD - Windows 8 - Gaming Laptop - (Y510P (59375624) )

Pros: Everything. Something I recommend to everyone - read the specs and you can even get the product manual off the Lenovo site. You get what it says you get. The SLi'd 650m's are amazing. 1080p HD screen with matte finish is beautiful. Keyboard feels great, good response, tactile finish is wonderful and the adjustable (3 settings - off, medium brightness, high brightness) backlit keys not only increase functionality in the dark but looks very awesome. The mousepad takes a little getting used to but is not nearly as bad as some have tried to say. I also recommend getting the 24gb SSD drive as this means your laptop will include the connector for an SSD (if you get the hybrid, there is no hookup for a second harddrive unless they're changing it in the future). The longest I've waited for the computer to boot up is 12 seconds since completing the initial bootup.

Cons: Just a small quirk but like many other have said, it's a fingerprint magnet. Just be a clean adult and it'll only be a minor annoyance. Mouse pad did take getting used to but once you understand the little things about it, it's a cinch. If you're going to game or even photo editing things, you'll have a mouse anyways!

Overall Review: Something that irks me terribly about so many reviews - people complaining about things they already read about a product in the specs, etc. This laptop comes with Windows 8, that can't be a con since you KNEW it was going to come with it. So again I say, read the specs and product info, everything, and if you see something you don't like, keep looking around. This laptop at it's price point is fairly amazing and Lenovo has produced a machine that has easy access to it's internals! Also, as with any computer, laptop, piece of hardware, etc, update your drivers. My first 2 steps were to uninstall all included software I didn't want and then updated everything. I have zero problems with SLi thus far and it seems like Lenovo must now include an updated driver for the wireless as I've had zero issues downloading, browsing and playing games online. That said, Lenovo's website was a little difficult to navigate so here is the link to everything software wise (drivers, software, etc) to do with this laptop: http://support.lenovo.com/en_GB/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS035829 This includes all drivers and current fixes (Windows 8.1 SLi fix!!) So for the last time, read! Always. Know what you're buying and do what you can to understand it. For the price, this thing is fairly amazing and while I fought with myself over spending a decent amount of money on a laptop when I built a desktop just last year, I'm 24 hours into feeling quite satisfied about my purchase.

Excellent entry DSLR

Nikon D3000 Black 10.2 MP Digital SLR Camera w/ 3x 18-55mm Zoom-NIKKOR VR Lens

Pros: Everything you need and could want in an entry level DSLR. I went from a point-and-shot to this and the difference goes beyond staggering. Very useful settings and a button that gives you information on whatever menu item you've selected (Ex. If you're adjust the ISO, you can press the ? button and it'll explain what adjusting the ISO does.) It's conviently sized and the weight is very comfortable when held. Takes excellent pictures.

Cons: This is en ENTRY level DSLR. That means if you have already owned a DSLR, this won't that step-up you might be hoping for. That said, if you have a D40 or older, the D3000 offers some newer, much nicer features, imo. The only con I can honestly think of is not knowing how to use all the settings on this camera, aha.

Overall Review: My camera arrived and would not focus properly under Autofocus. The focus bracket, as seen through the view finder as [ ] around a focal point, was strictly off to the right. Ended up the focusing centers had become misaligned. I can only imagine it might've taken a little bang here or there during the shipping process, but NewEgg's customer service very, very quickly remedied the situation and I have a new one on the way. Newegg's customer service is, as always, beyond expectation.

RAIDMAX SMILODON Extreme Black ATX-612WEB 1.0mm SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Foldout MB Computer Case

Pros: Writing a follow-up to my previous review. So far, all my LED's are burning bright and true. My only guess is that possibly people have done things to damage the wiring for the front of the case (if you're not careful and open the front of the case as far as it goes, there are some wires that get a bit pinched. This could lead to breaks in the wiring inside the plastic lines.) I still recommend this to anyone looking for a sturdy show piece of a case.

Cons: Window support bar thing suddenly has become a little harder to get out because of something that's happened to the plastic click-in piece. Nothing that can't be quick-fixed I'm sure.

Overall Review: I still recommend this, especially at the price. I have friends (albeit friends who don't do their own building) asking me if I went out and spent a grand or two on a new computer - just because it's clear-sided and lights up a corner of my room at night.

Good price, great product.

RAIDMAX SMILODON Extreme Black ATX-612WEB 1.0mm SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Foldout MB Computer Case

Pros: Comes stock with 4 fans; 2x 120 mm and 2x80 mm. Has a 5th fan slot for hard drive cooling. The fold-out mobo tray is incredibly convient for when you are first building; later on you won't want to swing it out unless you unplug everything first. Roomy enough case with some nice conviences.

Cons: It's heavy, but then again, if you don't read the specs and are disappointed.. you have yourself to blame. I don't move the tower around much at all, so weight really isn't a problem and actually provides increased stability as nothing bumping the case will cause it to move/tilt/or fall down. So it's almost a Pro, actually.

Overall Review: Case arrived in PRISTINE condition. No scratches, breaks, crack, etc. Every LED is currently working excellently. A few have been unlucky and probably recieved damaged goods due to shipping injuries. I'd recommend this case to anyone looking for a very nice looking case that's not only very solid but also incredibly easy to work with. Note: Anyone complaining about burnt out LEDs.. LEDS are incredibly cheap and vs. the Pros of this case, are only a minor inconvience to replace by hand. This is so easy, the price and Pros make this a great buy.

Good Price, Good Product

ASUS P5K-E LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS P5K-E LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Solid board. No problems since the first boot-up. Good enough sound for onboard. I have no honest complaints so far. Don't think this board will fail on you, only a *few* others recieved faulty boards. This is perfect to a t thus far.

Cons: Only thing that could be consider a problem so far is that my heatsink for the cpu has such a low rpm that the mobo can't register it. No biggy. Told it to ignore the fan speed ^_^ Anyone complaining about space because of their video card or case size.. uh.. check dimensions before you buy ANY computer parts for a new build. Otherwise it's your fault, not the hardware's.

Overall Review: Great board so far. No problems, everything pieced together. Some placements are a little iffy, but anyone buying should verify sizes of all parts, etc, and make sure they have sufficient cables. Otherwise, again, your own fault. I was able to get everything in, including an enormous Zalman lga 775 heatsink/fan. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a solid mobo.

Good price, great cooling, low noise!

MASSCOOL 8WA741 92mm Ball CPU Cooler
MASSCOOL 8WA741 92mm Ball CPU Cooler

Pros: Brought my P4 Prescott from high 50-60's C (idle and load) down to about.. 47 C top (highest load). On a hot day is the only time I can reach low 50's, now. Also, at 100% fan speed, almost feels like a distant hum. Only time you hear it at all is if you're aren't doing anything.. like I mean.. you're just sitting there, listening. Otherwise, turn it down to 80% and you'd think it was fanless!

Cons: No install instructions... just kidding! People.. seriously.. if you can't put this in without installation instructions you uh.. need to stop 'pretending' to build computers. The first build I ever did, being a build virgin and with few friends into computers I had little knowledge, realized how to put back-mounted hs/f's in!!! Idiots, I swear! Other than that not actually being a con, it's tall so it might not fit many cases, don't even attempt in a mini-atx. Read the dimensions and break out a tape measure, otherwise don't come crying to computer mommy when it doesn't fit.

Overall Review: Yeah, all back-mounted hs/f's.. well, they're all back-mounted and thus install the same. Read up on anything you DON'T understand before buying something and complaining, eesh. Also, to the guy who said there's a break-in period, it's not the hs/f bud ^_^ Depends on what you used for the thermal compound, some take a little time to 'burn in'. This hs/f INSTANTLY brings your temp down using Artic Silver 5. Dropped from about 20+ C from the Intel stock hs/f. Buy it, like it, love it. If I had several other computers like this one, they'd all have this hs/f!
