This review is from: Lenovo Laptop Essential B590 (59366616) Intel Core i3 2nd Gen 2348M (2.30 GHz) 2 GB Memory 320 GB HDD Intel HD Graphics 3000 15.6" Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit upgradeable to Windows 8 Pro
Pros: Windows 7 pro, good CPU speed. Feature rich. Very impressed with Antonline. They messaged often to make certain I was happy with it. I can't judge support, as I had no problems.
Cons: Of course, a bit light on RAM, but this is to be taken into consideration at this price. You should add RAM, but its inexpensive.
Other Thoughts: At this price, with Windows 7 Pro, its super. Just ask yourself, would you buy one for a hundred dollars more if it had 4GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD? That's about what it would cost to upgrade it, and you'd have a very strong performer. Did I mention Win 7 Pro?READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Cavalry CAUA37160 160GB 7200 RPM USB 2.0 External Hard Drive
Pros: It is what it is, an external hard drive, and plenty inexpensive. I find it quiet, and cool. No issues here.I'm sure a lot depends on what drive you get inside.
Cons: Mine contains a 160GB 1.5Gb/s Maxtor refurbished drive. I believe the manufacturer should state this, just as it should when selling bare drives. I seen another review stating the same, and had to get one myself (open and void the warranty) to find out. Yep...refurbished.
Other Thoughts: A buyer can only make an informed decision when he knows all the facts. Whether to purchase a new or refurbished drive is important information and shouldn't be omitted. Caveat emptor on this one gang...READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: High end recording specifications, 96Khz/24bit and near zero latency using ASIO drivers. Incredible soft-synth performance. I use Sonar, and not a blip or stutter from this thing even at low latency settings.
Cons: The "Con's" on me. I should've bought one sooner.
Other Thoughts: If you want to, or will be using your computer as a recording studio (and can't afford one of the "big boy" cards)...get this. I got less than 5ms latency with this card, and you can't hear any delay triggering soft-synths. Between the pristine audio clarity, and the low latency, you can finally toss out all those old keyboards and let your computer produce everything from a Grand Piano to a Mellotron (yes, in sync in real time!)READ FULL REVIEW
