ASRock 4CoreDual-SATA2 R2.0 LGA 775 VIA PT880 Pro/PT880 Ultra ATX Intel Motherboard
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: Inexpensive

Cons: Board was DOA. Would not boot, nothing completely DOA.

Other Thoughts: I was doing a build for a friend who was a little short on cash. We decided to try and save some parts from his older PC. I was able to test the other parts and they all work. This board is the first RMA I've ever had to request from newegg. I will never buy another ASrock product.

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb Quad-Core 3.2 GHz Socket AM3 125W HDZ955FBGIBOX Processor
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: Fast, awesome upgrade from AMD 6000+ dual core. Everything loaded fast after BIOS update(see below).
Great overclocking options though I haven't had the chance to put it through the paces yet. Most of my builds have been AMD nice price/power ratio.

Cons: With the M4A78T-E needed to update to Flash the Bios to get it boot, but that's a MB issue not processor.

Other Thoughts: Can't wait to really see what this can do. What I have seen so far.... it's been sick.

ASUS M4A78T-E AM3 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard

4 out of 5 eggs Nice once you get it working 04/25/2009

This review is from: ASUS M4A78T-E AM3 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Nice layout and power management options. The overclocking tool locks really user friendly though I haven't put it to the test yet. Great price for the power offered. Bios flashing utility was easy to use though I'd rather not have had to.

Cons: Needed to flash the BIOS to get this to work with the Phenom II 955. I suppose that was to be expected but still a hassle. Minus 1 egg for that 1

Other Thoughts: Once the Bios was updated everything else went really smoothly with the build. I've used ASUS for my last 3 builds and will continue to in the future. Always solid.
