Acer G215HAbd-1 Black 21.5" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 ACM 50,000:1

Pros: This was an awesome deal! Have had some problems in the past with the egg on a warranty issue but for $115 bucks shipped, I can almost forgive anything.

Cons: UPS sucks! Took over a week to get it. The shipping cost was free so I know it seems petty to complain but they are not living up to there part of the deal in my opinion. Never had to wait when the egg was using fedex and usually my stuff showed up early. Just a word of advise, the "brown" stuff should be flushed!

Terrible touchscreen issues

ASUS Google Nexus 7 Tablet 32GB - Brown
ASUS Google Nexus 7 Tablet 32GB - Brown

Pros: It was nice when it worked but unfortunately I never got the chance to use it much because the touchscreen didn't work very long. Sadly, I didn't use it much when I first got it for a Xmas gift and when the touchscreen issues surfaced my 30 day return period was just over. I would have returned it for a refund if I'd had the chance.

Cons: The touchscreen doesn't work. The problems follow a pattern: First the touchscreen starts ignoring touches, then registers touches but on the wrong area of the screen, then it starts registering phantom touches when it's just sitting on a table, for instance. The phantom touches open apps one after another, type nonsense, start and stop the tablet, etc. Rapidly and for a long time. The early-stage (non-response) problems can be temporarily stopped by turning the tablet on and off but when you get to the phantom touch stage you have to do a hard reset and wipe all personal data. I have been able to "fix" it temporarily in the past with a hard reset, but this last time I can't even do that because the phantom typist takes over when I try to enter my wifi router password. Just getting it to the password enter screen is a struggle. So at this point, it's totally useless. I've done research trying to find out if these problems are common and they do seem to be. Some people say it happens with memory hogs like games or video but I use mine for reading overdrive library books so I think that is just a coincidence and it will happen no matter what you use the nexus for. I never tried to use most of the apps since I knew I would have to reset and erase everything pretty quickly. At least with the library books I didn't have to back all my data up to a pc, they just got checked in early. Others have said the problems stop when it's charging or headphones are plugged in, but with mine that makes no difference. I have returned it to ASUS twice for repair and both times it worked for a few weeks--I suspect they just did hard resets but I don't know because they never communicated what, if anything, they did to the tablet to repair it. The last time I returned it, it came back displaying an incorrect date and time from the year 2000--no idea what that was about. So I had to do a hard reset just to get rid of that problem and several other weird kinks it was displaying. Maybe the repair guy was just messing with me, who knows.

Overall Review: I am still within my one year warranty and I am going to contact ASUS and try to get the tablet replaced since it's clearly defective and they can't repair it. I'm not holding my breath that they will really honor that part of the warranty (replacement) because when I've brought it up before with their reps they just hemmed and hawed about it and would not tell me how bad the Nexus had to be to actually get the thing replaced.
