Works Well
Pros: This drive is pretty quiet. I'd heard that the 1TB and larger drives have too many platters and create noise. I just got a mobo with SATA 3 capability (6.0 gb/s), but I really don't think that getting a HDD with the same spec is worth it. 32 MB cache is adequate, and games load up plenty quick. I'm happy with the read/write functioning and low noise level.
Cons: Hard drives can't read/transfer data nearly as fast as SATA 2 (3.0 gb/s) already provides, so the SATA 3 (6.0 gb/s) is just a perk.
Airflow is Wrong
Pros: Works with LGA 1155. Keeps my i5-2500 idle at 41C / 105F.
Cons: Large cooler, barely fits in my micro ATX build and almost obscures the SATA connectors for CD drives. The airflow is in the wrong direction!!! This cooler is anti-ATX as it is presently pushing air from the back to the front of my case. This defeats the purpose of having a fan in the front of the case to draw air in.
Overall Review: If you can, install it backwards from the instructions and just reach the power cable the long way around. Also, it's best to have a 2nd person help you with this install. It's tough to screw on all the bolts from the bottom using the screwdriver attachment included in the box.
Fast Connection
Pros: The fact that it's PCI is great. It can sit inside your case and provide wireless connectivity via antennae out the back, without looking bulky or getting in the way like how some USB adapters do.
Cons: Two antennae are required for "n" level of transfer speed. It's not a con, just something you should be aware of, having two antennae sticking out the back...and they're aren't exactly short, either.
Much less bulky than Vista
Pros: Less bulky than Vista, though limiting functionality by how much you're willing to pay is kind of a stab in the back.
Cons: Price is too high, to be frank.
Complete, many Features for low price
Pros: This is a great little case. I only paid 30 for it, and for that much the features are fantastic. Even at 50, which it's showing right now, it's still a buy. Great wiring inside, subtle blue LED lights show through the front. Front USB and audio ports. Sleek, subtle looking black case.
Cons: Can't remove the right side panel, only the left side (normal side). The slide-in metal piece that holds hard drives is too close to the motherboard. My heatsink and graphics card were both in the way so I had to mount my two hard drives in the two floppy bays.
Overall Review: Interesting mounting system for CD drives and Floppy-bay items. The included instruction diagram explains it all.
Quick Processor, no Unlocking
Pros: This process is plenty fast for me, the average game playing, document writing user. I play some graphics intensive games, which is what I have the discreet GPU for.
Cons: Used the integrated GPU to install Windows, and I gotta say, the integrated graphics are absolutely terrible. Not at all what they're cracked up to be. Not to mention the max resolution is only 1280 x 1024. The entire screen looked a little hazy and playing a youtube video put it to real shame. The colors looked bad. Then I put in the graphics cards (1gb gddr3) and wow is it beautiful. Perfect picture and dual monitors.
Overall Review: I really don't think it's worth paying the extra $$$ for the "K" version just so you can overclock. If you're really gonna overclock a processor this powerful, then you have to worry about adequate cooling, etc.
