GIGABYTE GA-C1007UN-D Intel Celeron 1007U Intel NM70 Mini ITX Motherboard/CPU/VGA Combo
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Low Power

Cons: No USB3
HDMI Video connector Only (very minor)
PCI Expansion not PCI-e

Other Thoughts: I agree with everything DHG said. I'm also using this for a PFSense firewall. It doesn't have all the lights, bells, and whistles you might want for a new standard desktop PC build, but you can't beat the price for a lower end PC build or a small home server of a sort. With a Rosewill RNX-G300LX wireless card and WD laptop hard drive installed, I'm pushing about 25 watts (powered by a PicoPSU). That's using a FreeBSD type OS. Not sure if power management is any better on other OS's.

I'm not sure why they couldn't throw in a PCI-e slot as the NM70 chip supports this. Maybe it's for a future model...

I do have a few concerns with the reliability of this in a 24/7 role, so we'll see how it goes.

SilverStone Sugo Series SG05BB-LITE Black SECC / Plastic Mini-ITX Desktop Computer Case with 2 x USB3.0 ports (Black)
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Small
Quiet Fan
Looks Great
Easy to work with
Plenty of Ventilation

Cons: None Yet

Other Thoughts: I bought this case for a firewall/router that I'm making. It certainly depends on what you're planning on stuffing in there but, for me, it has plenty of room inside. If you are truly looking for a low power solution, I would forgo a standard SFX power supply and get a PicoPSU (basically a laptop power supply with ATX connectors...Google it). Admittedly, like others have said, the blue LED is quite bright, but I think that's neat, and nothing a piece of tape can't take care of. I don't have a CD-Rom in there, but it would certainly require a slim, low-profile type.
