ASUS RT-N16 Wireless Router 802.11b/g/n up to 300Mbps DD-WRT Open Source support with USB Storage, Printer And Media Server

Pros: bought this router December 2010. Been on continuous since then.
had small bugs to worked out.but after that no issues at all. ran it with tomato for a couple years no problems and recently switched to Merlin

Cons: ran too hot and not having air-conditioned house didn't help.
which caused the Wi-Fi to drop connection a lot.
Didn't know how hot it was running at that time. After switching to Merlin it tells you Chip temperature. with a fan running about 100° Fahrenheit ,without running about 140.

Other Thoughts: problems I figured out. Use small muffin fan and microwave bowl for a spacer and used that to cool the unit. Works great. the other major problem was figuring out that my modem was not set up as a gateway and so they fought for control, drove me crazy till I figured it out.
I now use this as a access point for my Asus RT-AC68U.

Pros: I bought this on 12/6/2010.still has all its parts ,never had any warnings about the hub from my computer.. Always came on always seem to have enough power to run everything hooked up. Be that one or seven items
I highly recommend this if you're looking for USB 2.0 powered hub.

Cons: None at all

Pros: I bought two of the 250 GB SSD's to use in a raid setup
Very fast, set up in raid0, benchmark: read 950 to 980 MB/s. write 913 to 945 MB/s. Depends on which the benchmark you use.
and firmware was up-to-date wow.Of course found that the manufacturing date was just over a month from purchase date.
that's why firmware was up-to-date I think

Cons: haven't had them for very long but the only problem so far is Samsung software will not work when the drives are set up in a raid.
so you can't check on the firmware status unless you take them out of raid.
even though they should be clear about the raid problems I still give them five eggs.

Other Thoughts: took a couple tries to get this to work because you cannot check the firmware when the SSD's are set up in a raid. So had to do a basic install with the 840 EVO's in non-raid. Found that firmware was up-to-date and did a speed check and they were either at or above claim speed. Then put the 840s back into raid0 and reinstall everything. So heads up for everyone if you're going to use raid, check the drives before converting them to raid.
