Pros: The card is affordable and is a true hardware RAID.
Cons: This card has NO cache memory. Be careful you don't make the mistake I did before ordering. I didn't realize this card has no cache memory and therefore write operations on the hard drives result in huge performance issues. This card is really underwhelming in the performance department. While writing a big file to a RAID 1 array you will have an almost unbearably slow response for all other disk related activities.
Make sure you get the breakout cable if you use this card. That is another negative because the higher end, better performing cards come with the cables already.
Other Thoughts: It gets 3 eggs because its really not a bad card, but for a few dollars more you can get a much better performing card with cache memory.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: APEVIA CF7025S 70mm Case Fan
Pros: Quiet. Seems to work well. It doesn't spin so fast you think its going to fail in a couple of days.
Cons: Not sure what kind of bearings this uses? Can't find the info anywhere, even on the manufacturer's website. I always try to avoid sleeve bearings.
Other Thoughts: Its a nice fan, especially for the money.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: SuperMicro tech support is great. No where have I ever experienced working with a manufacturer where you literally talk to the guy sitting on a work bench reproducing your problem and figuring things out for you.
Cons: Unfortunately, this board is NOT compatible with Server 2012 Hyper-V. This board has a fatal flaw with the network adapters. If you install the Intel drivers for the network cards with advanced networking services (so you can use teaming, vlans, etc.) and install Hyper-V the system will become unstable. Whenever accessing the network adapter properties of the Intel 82574L or trying to create a team, or other configuration the motherboard will instantly reboot. The problem has been submitted to SuperMicro, it has been reproduced, it has been escalated to Intel, it has been 3 months, there is still no solution.
In addition, at this time Intel has NO drivers for Server 2012 R2.
There is a thread in the Microsoft forums where we are tracking this issue and desperately waiting for a solution. If you intend to use this board with Server 2012 Hyper-V you MUST use the built-in windows drivers for the network adapters which do not have any advanced networking services.
Other Thoughts: There have been some other minor issues I have experienced with this board that were not show stoppers. It has trouble with detecting boot devices unless you change some really strange settings in the BIOS.READ FULL REVIEW
