This review is from: EDIMAX EW-7438RPn Mini N300 Mini Wi-Fi Extender/Access Point/Wi-Fi Bridge
Pros: Works well as an Access Point and that is the easiest way to set it up.
Cons: Not good for streaming audio at all as a Wi-Fi Extender. As a Wi-Fi Extender it drops the connection several times an hour while listening to my Logitech Squeezebox Internet Radio. I bought two EW-7438RPn and tried Wi-Fi extending using one and then tried two jumping the signal to get a better signal on the other side of the house. Nothing worked even when I was 10 feet from the device it would drop the signal from time to time.
Other Thoughts: As others have said it is not easy to set up at all. You need to use a laptop, smartphone or tablet. Do not use an ethernet cable to set it up. Look for RTL8186-default in your wireless list and connect to it and go from there with the instructions.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Upgraded from a HD 6870 and I could not be happier. It is very quiet under full load, temp only got to 75 C while running 3dMark and only gets to 77 C running FurMark 15 minute Burn-in test. Idle is at 33 C. It is smoking fast compared to my HD 6870.
Cons: None, except I wish I had PCIe 3.0...someday...
Other Thoughts: System specs: i5 2500k @ 4.5 GHz
16 G 2133 DDR3
Biostar TZ68A+ 68Z MB w/only PCIe 2.0
I do wonder how much better this would score on 3dMark with a motherboard and CPU that support PCIe 3.0?
Pros: Very bright when turned on and seamlessly transitions to fluorescence.
Cons: Started flickering and then just when out all together in just 6 months!READ FULL REVIEW
