The Perfect Storm

Turtle Beach PX22 (TBS-3230-01) amplified universal gaming headset for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC
Turtle Beach PX22 (TBS-3230-01) amplified universal gaming headset for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC

Pros: COMFORT - Large and Comfortable wrap around ear pads. - Breathable fabric, less sweating or non at all depending on the user. - Cushioned top piece. - Ear pads touch head in all locations, no gaps. SOUND over 3.5mm Jack - Excellent crisp, load, Bass, Treble, etc.. - Bass and Treble adjusters work very well, small adjustments make a big difference. - Separate controls for volume. SOUND over USB - Clear SOUND over Cell Phone jack. - You control this channel mostly on your phone's audio settings. - Listening to music is the clearest with the least distortion on this channel so far. (Please note any distortion I have heard on this headset as been very very minor, but it does occur from time to time, and this channels seems to handle loud music the best. This may just be my cell phone.) - Nice and clean. - Clearest phone call I have ever made with a headset. - Sound is so crisp you might think someone is slicing your ear drums up with a knife. Microphone - on Xbox - It is fine, the low quality of xbox live voice chat affects this more than the physical Mic, but it sounds very good according to my buddies. Microphone - Over USB - Crisp and clear - a slight bass added to voice, which sounds good. Microphone - Over Cell phone. - Good if mic is pulled away from my face further, but this may be my phone over amplifying the mic.

Cons: COMFORT - Very tight headset, might take a few sessions to get used to, but in my experience all headsets need a few days to get past that "low headache" phase. - If you wear glasses these will squeak like a balloon against them sometimes. But many headsets do this to me, but these are the worst when it comes to discomfort with glasses, and over all it is really not that bad. They are the worst headset I have had to use with glasses, but on a scale of 1-10 I still rate them a solid 7.5 for glasses. SOUND over 3.5mm Jack - The headset can't seem to handle it's own bass. The PX21's hit WAY harder than these. These get loader, but the bass tends to distort a little. even with the bass set to the center position. SOUND over USB - The Bass and treble do not affect this channel - Not as loud or as crisp as the 3.5mm jack - It's loudest setting is sometimes only just loud enough.. i wish the USB could get loader. SOUND over Cell phone - The Bass and treble do not affect this channel - Loud electrical hiss when cell phone is charging, It can be clearly heard even in the loudest of music over the cell phone and other inputs. (Easy fix is to not charge your phone while it is connected, but that creates it's own issues) - Please note there is no hiss when the cell phone is not charging. And it may very well be an issue with my phone, not the headset... but I assume most users phones may do the same. Microphone over Cell phone - People complained it sounded like I was whispering, but had the gain turned up all the way an sounded loud and distorted. Pulling the microphone an extra 1-2 inches from my face made for crystal clear audio for my listener. - This may be an issue specific to my cell phone however.

Overall Review: SOUND over Cell phone - The Volume is only controlled by your cell phone, no controls on the headset, not a big deal, just something to keep in mind. ALTERNATE SETUPS - You can connnect your 3.5mm jack to your Xbox, along with the xbox chat wire, and get game audio and chat audio to work perfectly, while connecting the USB to your computer to get your Computer audio, chat audio, and mic to work. Then you can plug in your cell phone to take calls if needed. You could connect to Xbox, PC, and a cell phone all at the same time and you will hear all the sounds over each device and each person will hear you over the mic (except cell phone) and it all works perfectly. I testing this for fun. It works.

Near a Wall outlet this thing is a beast. Power Brick not strong enough.

GIGABYTE - 15.6" NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M - Intel Core i7-5700HQ - 16GB Memory - 128 GB SSD - Windows 10 Home - Laptop - (P35Xv4-BW2T )
GIGABYTE - 15.6" NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M - Intel Core i7-5700HQ - 16GB Memory - 128 GB SSD - Windows 10 Home - Laptop - (P35Xv4-BW2T )

Pros: - Thin and clean look. - Very powerful, running the Division near max setting at 60fps. - Passable speakers. They sound good overall, with something lacking I cannot put my finger on. - No Bloatware. All the included software is minimal and just Utilities for managing the laptop. - Comes with the HDD caddy for a 2nd HDD - Fans tend to stay very quiet at all times except while gaming.

Cons: - The HDD Caddy is molded badly and does not form to the laptop very well. - Case feels flimsy lots of torque if picked up at and angle. - Battery with all power savings activated will give about an hour of game time. - Battery with setting at Nvdia's recommended will give about 40 minutes of game time. - Laptop will NOT run at full power on battery? Massive detriment. - Charger is not powerful enough to charge the laptop while gaming. The charger will short out and turn off and will need to be unplugged and plugged back in to reset it. - Even when plugged into a wall you will need to wait 2-3 hours to play games until the battery is fully charged. - Track pad is probably the worst I have ever used. Tracks badly and even the left and right mouse buttons provide movement so clicking can cause the mouse to move past what you wanted to click. - Gigabyte support is lack luster. First laptop arrived DOA and was not covered under the warranty!? As they only repair they do not replace. - Fans will overpower the volume of the speakers when playing at full power. Headphones are a must if you want to hear your game without blowing the speakers.

Overall Review: If you are going to stay plugged in 90% of the time and only need the battery for browsing and lite gaming and only plan to go full blast gaming when the battery is fully charged and you are plugged in.. THIS is for you. It is an amazing well performing laptop. However it was clearly engineered badly as the Power Brick cannot provide enough ampere to Charge the laptop and power it during gaming sessions. And when it is on battery the battery can also not provide enough "oomph" to let the system run at full speed. This is more of a desktop replacement gaming machine with great portability and battery life IF you do not play games on battery.

Never worked well, now it is dead.

ORICO H727RK-U3-BK 7 Port USB3.0 HUB with Premium 12V/2.5A Power Adapter (Black)

Pros: -All the ports feel solid and devices "click" in nicely.

Cons: -Does not provide enough power to any port to power any device I plugged in. -Most devices would not work at all when plugged into the hub. - Getting it to detect a device required trying different ports, and eventually even if it did detect it, the PC would not see it. - Very short USB cable which means the Hub still needs to be close to the PC and it not very convenient.

Overall Review: -The device is so light that the power cable and USB cable tilt it backwards.

Game is unplayable

SimCity Limited Edition PC Game
SimCity Limited Edition PC Game

Pros: -When you can login the game is pretty fun.

Cons: -You need to login to a server to play this game.. even in single player. At the time of this writing, these servers are always full, down, or simply do not work.

Overall Review: -It is very simplified version of the previous games.. which I like, but it makes it feel like a Facebook game with really good graphics.
