Genius GX-Gaming Gila Black 12 Buttons 1 x Wheel USB Wired 8200 dpi MMO/RTS Professional Gaming Mouse

  • neweggOwned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: I like the mouse layout and design. And it feels solid.

Cons: The M1 button is faulty on my mouse. That is on the very top left of the face of the mouse. It will work, sometimes, if I mash the hell out of it.

I never got the software to work well. It never seems to save profiles to onboard memory.

Also, everything is macros when programming keys. I had a logitech G-310 (I think) that let you map buttons to keystrokes.

Other Thoughts: I still use it. I just dont map anything to that key. I have worked around the macro issue. But I am in the market for a new mouse, probably a logitech.

Pros: None

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have big hands (for real like size 13+ ring finger) and I guess I like claw grip. I don't think I have seen a mouse I could palm without my fingertips completely covering the mouse and touching the desk on the front side.

I got it for SWTOR (nickname is my toon) and is helping me out in warfronts greatly. (Left hand spamming damage attacks, right hand for stuns, guards, cc breakers, etc.

Oh and the strips of color are cool. There are 7 to choose from, or just off. If you are feeling really nerdy, you can change it to match your lightsaber color. (Not that I would ever do that, but green looks pretty good.)

Pros: None

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This was the final piece for my first build:

Intel I-5 2400 processor (bought from Fry's)
Gigabyte GA-Z68A-D3H-B3 mobo (newegg)
G.Skill Ripjaws X Series DDR3 SDRAM 1600 (newegg)
Antec NEO ECO 400W 80+ (newegg)
Hitachi 1TB 7200rpm hard drive (fry's)
HP DVD writer (best buy)
My old off brand 24" monitor
Some Old mid tower I got from a friend
