5 out of 5 eggs Very efficient, SFF Mini power supply 02/04/2017

This review is from: FSP Group Mini ITX / Flex ATX 80Plus Gold 250W Power Supply (FSP250-60FAG)

Pros: Used this to replace an older non 80+ power supply for a i5 based HTPC I was building. Power usage at the plug went from 29W to 16W!! Very happy with this, and will get more.

It is very hard to find any 80+ PSUs below 300W, so this is a great find.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Pay attention that this is not a standard ATX form factor power supply and is quite small (roughly 1/3 the size). I made a mount plate to put it into the standard mounting bay. I could not find any adapters anywhere.

1 out of 5 eggs Almost a great idea, but D'oh! 01/21/2017

This review is from: SEDNA SE-FP-ESATA-1-BK- 2 Port eSATA Floppy Bay Front Panel with Power Connector (Black)

Pros: I was really interested in this, but then noticed the Molex connections ...

Cons: ... are the wrong gender. The front Molex power ports should be female sockets for the male plug. So no standard Molex cables are going to work on the front power connector! You would need a male to male Molex to plug into your peripheral.

Also, the exposed pins are bringing the PSU 12V power to the outside world, with some PSU capable of putting out 40-50A on that plug. Only the load side should have a exposed pins, and the power delivery side in the port front should have the protected shrouded housing to protect from a short.

Other Thoughts: So still looking for something like this, but with either a proper Molex output or a SATA power output ...

Update: Here is a similar Sedna item, similar problem, but comes with the PeSATA adapter cable that works for me:

IOGEAR GCS1104 4-Port USB DVI KVMP Switch with Audio and Cables

5 out of 5 eggs One of the better KVM switches I have used. 01/15/2017

This review is from: IOGEAR GCS1104 4-Port USB DVI KVMP Switch with Audio and Cables

Pros: This is the first KVM switch I have used that the USB ports worked flawlessly. No dropping out, and it even allows the non-displayed computers to boot up correctly and still switch in.

Cons: With the monitor that I have, it occasionally does not switch the video back in correctly. Switch away and come back and it is good. Not a big deal.

Other Thoughts: Very good KVM switch.
