| Features | Replaces existing model# CPS425SL GreenPower UPS GreenPower UPS technology reduces UPS energy costs by utilizing high frequency circuitry. This not only reduces utility consumption, but also reduces heat dissipation and system noise. Ultra-Quiet Functionality The combination of an advanced cooling design, high-end system components, and GreenPower UPS technology give CyberPower UPS systems the lowest sound emissions in its class. This makes our UPS perfect for desktop applications, audio/video installations, and quiet workstation environments. EMI/RFI Filters Provide shielding against electromagnetic interference & radio frequency signals. Most commonly, this is used to prevent line noise or "humming" that occurs over telephone lines or stereo electronics. Widely-spaced Outlets Widely spaced outlets allow you to conveniently add large transformer-based plugs without compromising the utility of other outlets. USB Connectivity HID compliant USB port enables full integration with built-in power management and auto shutdown features of Windows, Linux and Mac OS X. LED Indicators LED status lights indicate Power-On and wiring faults. Audible Alarms Audible tones identify when the unit is running off battery power, unit overloads and low battery. Convenient Mounting Multiple mounting options: horizontal, vertical, cabinet, and wall. Resettable Circuit Breaker Convenient unit reset switch in case of an overload. |

Pros: Light, compact for low loads.
Cons: Unit ran ~ 1 year supplying power to a router and 2 modems (~36W), which in my situation is critical because I have VIoP and Web through it. We did have a power outage and my 550VA went dead when I needed! It was the battery but no alarms nor notifications occurred prior to AC outage. So, before buying another one I decided to investigate the units functionality. After few measurements I am convinced that CP's design and validation is very substandard (perhaps on this unit), AND I will not be buying another unit from CyberPower. Here its why: 1. with a known-good battery (12V/5.5Ah) the battery backed AC side of the unit produces 102.7V instead of ~110-115vAC VAC and shorty drops to 97VAC; very unstable. 2. with fully charged battery ~14.2V, main AC removed, and ~36W AC loaded, the unit reports, through the USB software, ~5-7 min of run-time...really???? 3. Looking at CyberPower Personal Edition Status with battery disconnected and AC ON,the "Remaining battery Capacity " AND "Battery Status" shows 100% How could that be!!!?? However, this explains why there were no prior alerts from the unit. Removing AC power with bad battery has a predictable effect on the load. I would have attached photos of the set up and readouts but space/tool doesn't allow that .
Overall Review: none.
Pros: Great cheap battery backup. I have a LARGE UPS for my tower, however I also needed some protection from my smaller devices. I just ordered my second, since shipping is free. I will use no.1 for protection on my entertainment area (TV, NMP, ect.) and I bought no.2 for powering my router, switch, EMTA (extra power), & amp. Perfect for a structured wiring backup. No worries about momentary power outages causing damage to anything.
Cons: None that I can see.
Overall Review: Someone wrote a review stating that this was not good enough for his computer. YOU HAVE TO BUY A UPS THAT MATCHES YOUR NEEDS. That being said, this product would not power a full sized tower for long as its specs imply. A little research goes a long way.
Pros: smaller than expected. compact design. no annoying beeps when power goes out after 1st button press to acknowledge alert unlike others that make you do it often. Great for router, PoE switch for the home runs in my house closet. Wall mountable.
Cons: none that I can find. its sized for what I need.
Overall Review: make sure you do your power calculations and get the right sized ups. people who don't like this either rank it for low ups time or fails when switched off power. both are due to failure to compute their power requirements and run time requirements.
Pros: Smaller than most UPS units, great for low power devices, do no use with a computer.
Cons: none I am aware of yet
Overall Review: Great protection for the price
Pros: Price is better than most for a 1000VA UPS.
Cons: Software for this stinks. It's almost identical to the Geek Squad's app except one MAJOR option that is missing on this one, the longest it will allow your PC to run before the auto shutdown is 5 minutes! Why not allow it to run until the battery is low? And Windows Vista and 7 are missing their UPS control options so you're stuck with CyberPower's lame app, THANKS MICROSOFT! No USB, just 9pin serial (a lot of MB's don't even have serial any more, thankfully mine did).
Overall Review: Other than the app stinks and no USB, I like it. ;)
Pros: I recently bought a Brother MFC here at Newegg, and needed a power protection for it. After debating between brands and capacities, as well as looking over some regular surge protectors, I decided on this unit. It's TINY. Literally it's not much larger than a house brick. It is also very light.
Cons: Not Line Interactive, no digital readout, high cost per watt rating, not sine wave.
Overall Review: For lower power applications, such as an inkjet printer, network switch, even a router this is a good product. But remember it is very basic, and is not sine wave, so it should never be used with computers and other very expensive electronics.
Pros: Great little UPS.
Cons: Don't try to run this on a generator. You're gonna have a bad time. (It cuts power due to inconsistent generator output detected as bad/unstable line voltage/Hz)
Overall Review: Used 'em before, will use 'em again.

Eggxpert Review
Pros: Inexpensive plenty of outlets small size
Cons: None
Overall Review: This is good for basic low wattage PC's. I have this on an older PC. I wanted it for battery backup and surge protection. Buying a surge protector is in the same price range. So, why buy just a surge protector, when you can buy this and have battery backup also. Yea, a surge protector can last longer than when the battery needs replacement on this, but it should be good for 3-4 years before the battery needs replacement.
