I have this exact product. Had it for 34 months, no problem. Now, one PC will not hook up, wired or with dongle(which was what I have been using with same PC). Everything else works, although I had issues getting them back online. Now, will this new one(IF I buy it) work with old AND new dongles simultaneously? Or should I just do more research and buy another brand or product? I have a total of ~12 things working on this, from iPhones to blu-rays to gaming systems.

Since the router is working with your other devices, I would expect the the root of the problems lies with the PC that has connection problems. I am not convinced that the router has an issue. I would look at software that has updated since it last connected successfully. A driver update could definitely cause a connection issue. I would first try deleting the wireless profile associated with the dongle and try to reconnect.

If that does not resolve the problem, then look closely at software updates.

WE have 2 computers, 2 ipads and streaming Netflix.  Should this router be strong enough for all of these?

Yes, it can handle all of those devices.  The real limitation is the amount of data being transferred at once as opposed to number of devices.  For example if all devices were streaming Netflix at once there would be a lot of data moving through the router and it might slow down.  But yeah, it should be fine.

Due to where the cable comes in, I will need to put this in a basement.  Anyone have any issues with wireless if put in a low location?  (I know to put wifi as high as possible, but its not my house)

Mine is installed about a 2 feet below the floor in the basement. I have strong signal throughout my house, but after you leave the house the signal is almost completely gone(about 1 bar 65 db). Hope you that helps.

What is the maximum wireless throughput on this device? I have had this for a few years now and just got upgraded to 150/50 speeds at home. Wired max speed is about 100mbps. Wireless is only about 18mbps. Any clue why?

There are a lot of things that can cause this, if your using the router and not the usb adapter then I wold look at the drivers for your wifi card that you are using, also have you checked the D-Link website and downloaded and installed the latest firmware for the router? my built in wifi card started doing this and it was the driver for the built in wifi card had updated and the new driver was the problem. so in short 1. update firmware for router 2. try changing the driver for your wireless card, as for the usb adapter thats included with this kit I have never had it run over 150Mbps so if your using it you might try uninstalling the drivers for it and then re-install them. Hope this helps.

Yes. The USB adapter will allow the computer it is connected to connect to the router for Internet access.

I've misplaced my router password. I just bought a new Kindle & can't connect to it. How do I go about resetting my password?

You will have to reset your router. On the rear of your router. you will see a hole ladled "reset". Take a toothpick. or similar object and put it in the hole and hold it in until the lights flash. Your router is reset. You will have to log into the router and go through the setup to reconfigure your password.

Just Ethernet cable from Router (like NETGEAR WNDR3400-100NAS N600 Wireless Router ) to extender, then be sure you hang out the extender cable well.
