I purchased this so I could have 2 computers use the same printer.  I thought I read that it could do it, but I am not able to get it to work.  The one it downloaded on works, but not the other?  Any ideas?

I take care of 100 computers and I have never got a USB hub to work by connecting it to two computers. The USB technology is  not really suitable as a network device. I am not saying that there is no USB hubs that can do this but it is better to connect the printer with a ethernet network cord to a ethernet network switch and then connect both computers to the same network. If the printer has network and USB ports, you can connect one computer to the USB port on the printer and the other computer to the network port. If that is not an option, you can connect one computer to the printer and then share it on a network.

I know there are two fast charging ports on this device but can you still charge from the other ports just at a slower power level?

Im hugely late, but if it matters, its 120v, but accepts any generic 5v DC input that fits the plug, and Im sure you have one laying around.

If i'm understanding your question correctly, you want to connect the hub to your computer through a USB port... 99% of people who've bought this product likely are doing this and they're doing it successfully by using the USB cable that comes with the hub.

To explicitly answer your question, you need a male B on one end and a male A on the other.

Does it come with, and if so, how long is the usb cable that connects this hub to computer?

It does come with the cable, I don't have mine in front of me but it's a good length. A good length means I neither thought, "this cable is way too short!" or, "HOLY COW this cable is hung!"

If your plan is to keep your hub on the same desk as your computer, you should be fine.

I've not had any trouble with mine connected to a Dell running Windows 7 64bit. I would suggest checking cables - both USB and power.
