I don't expect a refurbished UPS to come with what some are calling an APC battery. If you buy a brand new APC UPS, remove the battery to see its APC sticker, you can peel that sticker off to see the battery mfr. label. I'm sure APC uses batteries from good sources, and CoastTec can also buy their batteries from good sources, maybe the same used by APC. The APC sticker on a battery is nothing magic. I'm guessing the warranty void sticker on the battery cover protects CoastTec from a potential user swapping batteries, keeping the fresh one, and returning their old one to CoastTec.

I've been running the CPS1500AVR for 4 years now. I've never had an issue. Ran my SETI@home farm fine for 2 years consisting of eight lower power systems.
