I wanted Blu-Ray on my Laptop so I ordered this drive. I get just under 19MB/s when copying from a Blu-ray Disc. Faster than the USB Blu-ray drive I was using.

Bought it to replace a VERY old LG Blu-Ray drive (one of the first raw drives available) which had lost the ability to properly read a complete Blu-Ray disk. In shopping for a new drive I wanted one that wouldn't work against me when I wanted to rip newly purchased disks to be played back on a Shield without physical media. Back in the day I'd flashed firmware on optical drives and it didn't scare me, but just buying a new random drive and trying to retrofit the firmware to work properly would take research and experimentation as well as doing things like creating a specific boot USB drive and, after all that, still possibly bricking the drive (I researched it a bit). Or I could spend a little more and get a ready-to-go, properly configured, and already tested drive from these guys. I decided I'd rather spend my time doing something more fun than trying to do on my own what they had already accomplished. It worked correctly right out of the box and continues to do so, though granted I've had it less than a month. You get what you pay for. Yes, you can buy the same drive for less money and then spend the time it takes to get it to where this drive already is. Or you can just buy the right thing in the first place. I chose the latter. Bought it the week before the July 4th holiday. Wasn't desperate so I ordered it with the cheapest shipping and was promised the drive on the Friday following the 4th. Instead it arrived on the preceding Wednesday. I doubt the seller had much control over that, but it did make it an even more positive experience. Had it been on time or even a day late I wouldn't have lowered my rating, but getting it two days earlier than promised certainly didn't hurt.

Easy install in new case/system. Reading is super fast on CDs, DVDs, and Blu Ray media.

Pioneer.....Need I say more? Eh? Get bodied by the straight up superiority of this optical drive. You don't mess with this. You just don't. Got this baby, loaded up the 1997 classic "Batman and Robin" and woke my mom up screaming with euphoria. Wrecked a whole MLP marathon with my bros. Spins discs faster than your mom did. Get spun on kid. Rekt. Take a seat. Your mom. My mom. This optical drive. Forever.
