~simply works as intended
I have an LG 27EA83 pro monitor (27", 2560x1440). Got a new Mac mini and bought this cable to hook the Mac up to the monitor. Works great from the start (at least so far). I was reading that some people have issues with various monitors that when the Mac goes to sleep and when it wakes up, the monitor doesn't turn on. Well, in my case using this monitor it works fine. Whether I set the monitor to turn off after X minutes, or put the Mac to sleep and then wake, the monitor comes back just fine. Mini DisplayPort (Mac) to DisplayPort (monitor) connection. OS X 10.8.3 Mountain Lion.
Not too long. Thin enough to deal with cable management but the cable is high quality.
On my MBP, Mac OS Sierra likes to reset the displays multiple times and re-arrange windows when a monitor is plugged in via HDMI. With this, plugged in to the same monitor's DisplayPort interface, Mac OS does not reset displays after the initial monitor addition, or move windows. That is, it works like it should.
Works perfectly, only issue I had is the display began to flicker or loose complete picture for a second, mostly my fault. Bought 2 of these for 2 different computers both with R9 295x2 but I move these computers an excessive amount and the cables are plugged in and unplugged 4 maybe more times a day.
Does what it claims! I was having trouble getting my 2015 Macbook Air to run at above 1920 x 1080 using a Mini-Displayport to HDMI adapter. Im using an LG 29UM57-P Display (21:9 Aspect Ratio 2560 x1080 no Displayport plugged in this cable and it immediately recognized at 2560 X 1080 @60hz. Im quite pleased makes a great cable for those who are creating a docking station for a Macbook Air.
Active Dual-link DVI capable up to 2560x1600 for <$50! To be sure, I only tried it on my Korean Shimian 2560x1440 monitor, but the cable is rated for 2560x1600. Easy way to connect to the mini displayport on the newer graphics cards.
