- Less expensive than other brands - Single Ethernet wire install - Strong signal
This is an excellent and very easy to setup Repeater. It extends the network really well and has a pretty decent range. If you select the Bridge option (instead of Gateway) there is no way to turn off one of the WiFi Networks (2.4Ghz or 5Ghz). HOWEVER, I found a work around if you make the network name blank on setup it then does not run that network. The Repeater tries to suggest using Gateway as a default. I highly recommend you DO NOT do that as a Gateway means it will redo all the protocols and redo the signal before it moves it on. There is a huge performance hit when you do this. I found that if you use this as a Bridge that you get rock solid performance!
Before I begin I want to point out that this is the 4th different model (2nd from TP-Link, 2 from other vendors) that I've gotten to review so I am basing this review by comparison to them. - External antennas make the difference. Part of the issue I have with the other 3 models are they were all internal. I have been using this model for over a week and it just tops off in range but definitely wins connection reliability. Not once did I get a drop or have to unplug/replug it back in. - Out of the box and configured in 2 minutes. It's super easy and with the included instructions should take even novice users just a few minutes to get working correctly. - Configurable as an extender/repeater or access point. I like having the option and honestly prefer setting this up as an access point. It made testing easier as I was able to tell with 100% certainty I was on the WA855RE. - I can disable the LED! This is something most newer routers have as a feature because these LED lights can be ridiculously bright. If I wanted a nightlight, I'd buy a nightlight. In this case, come 8pm you can't even tell this thing is on until 8am the next day.
1. Great for gamers 2. Great for townhomes
The setup was super simple, even through the ASUS Router app. Signal strength is good once the wifi clients adapt to having a new node on the network. Transitioning within the mesh from one node to another happens mostly without hiccups. Some older devices might hiccup switching connections.

Appears to be a well made quality product. Email support is quick to reply. For us in a rural area a booster like this is handy to have.

It has much better Range than two others I have tried.
Easy setup as long as you use your phone. Loaded the App , followed directions and set them up. Only setup 2 at the moment.. The signal clears my house and extends to the curb.. HAH! Take that Spectum! (Specturm has a broad area wifi sending point literally next to my house and it kills the wifi. ) It's fun having signal in the back of the house and in my workshop!.
Just the simple basics for the price. First time set up very easy
Quick setup in under 5 mins, powerful, works in same tether app as the AX11000. OneMesh setup was easy and quick and no bloody headache. WiFi range is excellent. Has not needed a reset at all like my previous equipment and software app is beautiful and useful unlike the nighthawk app I had. Replaced my R7000 and ex7300v2 with this and the AX11000 and never looking back.
- Easy set up - Slim design - Fixed WiFi dead spot
Easy to setup and great internet connection
This router was an excellent match for our two story house, providing complete coverage not only in the house but in the front and back yard. It was easy to setup and is highly configurable. The availability of a guest network and the up-to-date, easy to apply firmware updates make this a great WiFi router.
We have a large house and the wireless router is downstairs in our daylight basement. We were having problems with speed and connectivity upstairs in the living room, which is on the opposite end of the house. I've placed this extender on the main floor in the middle of the house. Now connectivity is much better and faster. Setup couldn't be easier. Plug it in near the router, press the WPM button on the router, then on the extender and wait a few seconds for the lights on the extender to glow steady. Then just find an outlet where you want to place it and make sure you get a steady connection light. I had my iPad connected within 5 minutes of taking it out of the box.
