No better deal for a basic upgrade

Pros: Fast, reliable, the name actually means a lot in the business, great price point, great warranty.
Cons: Went up in price a bit since I bought. No cons other than that!
Overall Review: This drive was just barely over $50.00 when I bought it not even a month ago... but I used it to replace a working WD Caviar Blue 5400rpm (500GB) drive out of a refurbished/new HP Sleekbook 15 F series. The machine I bought was underpowered with a very weak and older i3 processor (labeled a pentium) and only 4GBs of 1600mhz memory. It was running Windows 8.1... I updated Windows to Windows 10 Pro 64 bit and the first thing I did was notice how amazing the performance had gotten since putting in this drive. Lets get this straight though... just a replacement drive isn't going to result in a supercomputer... but this computer needed ANYTHING to help and this new drive with it's transfer speed and beefier cache can make nearly any underpowered computer breath some new life. Plus, I was able to take my old drive and turn it into a portable drive!
Basic at its best... without the leggings and pumpking spice!

Pros: 1) It's basic 2) It's sturdy 3) It's a quad core 4) Enough RAM... plus another slot for upgrading! 5) Easy access to RAM for upgrade 6) Comes preloaded with Windows 8 w/ free Windows 10 upgrade if you hurry and get it from Microsoft! 7) It's got HDMI/USB3.0 which is hard to find in such a low price point 8) It's got a 1 year warranty, and since it's refurbished, it's like new 9) It's HP (I've always had good experience with them) 10) Wireless N standard card
Cons: 1) The keyboard is too squished together - I understand the need to compact the keyboard so they could offer the number pad, but it's really hard to adjust to if you're not used to a thinner enter key, and smaller shift keys. 2) Weak CPU - Despite the pro of being a quad core CPU, it's really really weak. I wasn't looking to do anything hardcore with it though... so for school assignments, watching movies, playing music, and surfing it is great. Not a feature CPU, but it is efficient. 3) No Disc Drive - Granted I didn't really care for having one since I can't remember the last time I had to use one... but it's nice to have one nonetheless. 4) It's HP... SOME, not me, have had some issues with this brand. 5)The trackpad - it's simple and works well... but it gets in the way sometimes and my bearpaws hit it occasionally and send the cursor elsewhere whilst I type
Overall Review: Overall... this is a great laptop for the money! For less than $240 I have a full size laptop (really an overgrown netbook) and it does all I need to and even comes with a warranty. It does what it's made to do folks! If you're expecting more than basic computing and reliability within that spectrum, you're already expecting too much and will, of course, be disappointed.
