Pros: Solid build materials. Excellent and reliable track record. Well thought out bare bones super server or workstation. Easy to access locations for all pluggable devices, cables, cpu, memory sockets. All connections on mobo labeled for easy viewing.
Cons: None so far and don't expect any!
Overall Review: I've been using SuperMicro products for 15+ years with little problems. I've only had one super server motherboard go out over that 15+ years and support for that one incident was fast and excellent! SuperMicro products just work and work well. I'm using this 5037A-i bare bones server to build a Nas4Free storage server. I also used the SuperMicro heatsink and fan combo SNK-P0050AP4 with an Intel Xeon E5-2609 v2 Ivy Bridge-EP 2.5 GHz LGA2011 80W CPU. Both performing well, keeping CPU cool and running FAST. Also installed four Kingston 8GB Registered ECC memory modules part number KVR13LR9D4/8HC for a total of 32GB ram. Ran MemTest86 v6.20 for 48hours with no problems. Will be populating the system with 4 Hitachi 3.5" 4TB SATA 7200 drives, to start with, for a Raidz1 array of 12TB. Will then purchase optional 2.5" drive cage (part # MCP-220-73201-0N) for an additional four 2.5" drive array. haven't decided what 2.5" drives to use yet.
