Worked as expected!

Crucial 2GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Laptop Memory Model CT25664BC1067
Crucial 2GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Laptop Memory Model CT25664BC1067

Pros: Purchased for a memory upgrade on an ACER ASPIRE ONE D255. The one gig factory limit left the net book under performing. This did just the trick. Not that I expect much from a net book but the difference is noticeable. I was concerned about compatibility as I could not find a compatibility list but it worked flawlessly. If you are considering an upgrade this is perfect for under $15.00. You wont be disappointed for that price. You may also want to check you tube for instructions for changing the memory. It was much more than I thought it would be. I have an ACER ONE 1410 as well and it was simple by comparison to this.

Cons: None

Overall Review: Be careful when removing the keyboard. It looks easy on you tube but its kinda tricky. be sure to press the 3 tabs above the keyboard all the way in. then before replacing the keypad press them and lift slightly to pop them back out so they hold the keyboard down. and look at the screws under the keyboard. the 4 you need to remove are labeled"door" just remove the 4. Good luck and happy New Egging!!!

GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 AM3+ AMD 990FX + SB950 USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Good price and great performance.

Cons: Issues. System won't wake from sleep/hibernation. This was a high end HTPC used for OTA tv recording, movie storage, audio conversion and movie conversion. I neede to have 3TB drives and my old GA-EP45UD3P would not recognize that large a drive. I paired this with an 8 core CPU and the performance was great. Fast conversion times and cool CPU. but the ability to record over the air TV is a problem when the system won't wake up. Multiple reviews I've read here, toms and Am**on state people are having the same problem I'm having. You have to pull power to get it to wake up. I needed a machine that Sleeps and wakes to record for media center and I miss programs weekly due to this glitch. No answer from tech all services after a week. I'm looking for a replacement now that I've found the problem. (After replacing power supplies, video cards and a UPS thinking it was a peripheral device causing the problem, wasted money)

Gigabyte Rocks.

GIGABYTE GA-M68M-S2P AM3/AM2+/AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 7025/nForce 630a chipset Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Budget PC for dear old dad. no frills MB but did exactly what I wanted and on budget. For Dad it just needs to boot, surf, Print and keep him from calling with complaints. This was the one. 5th Gigabyte MB I have used and all perform wonderfully and for less than A**s. Stick with a trusted name and you cant go wrong. Great MB for a Great Price. Some room to upgrade but nice the way it came.

Cons: Only 2 Memory slots. didn't matter as I only planned on 4 gigs but it looks so strange to just see 2. could use maybe 2 more usb ports but if needed I can make up to 4 more.

Overall Review: Shipped Quickly and was well packaged. Newegg is Simply The Best. Thanks.

Loving WD

Western Digital Blue WD5000AAKS 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Great Price for a good size drive. as always WD makes the best drives. no other HDD has lasted as long and noise free as these. I have been buying Caviar blacks but the blue series is priced so well and most reviews rate them well I thought I would give it a try. replaced a SE****e 320 with this 500 and my Windows Experiance jumped from 5.9 to 6.1. not huge but the best score I have seen to date from a drive.

Cons: None yet.

Overall Review: Newegg.... I have to tell ya that apparently you do read and respond to your own feedback. BEST JOB EVER ON SHIPPING!!! The drive I recieved was wrapped in bubble wrap, inside a cardboard package, inside packing peanuts and well tapped in a shipping box. so many reviews slam you for the hap hazard way OEM drives are sent but I felt like real effort was made. And the time it took to recieve my purchace has improved over the last 3 weeks. Thanks Newegg... Simply the best!!!

Where from here?

ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro - Compact Multi-Compatible Tower CPU Cooler | 92 mm PWM Fan | for AMD AM4 and Intel 115x CPU | Recommended up to 115 W TDP

Pros: Worked for 6 months. Super Quiet when the fan stops working and the PC is still running. radiated enough heat without the fan to not melt my AMD 955 thankfully. Can be melted down for scrap or used "as is" for a nifty paperweight. Only cost me $35.00 6 months ago, must have a $4.00 better fan now. Could have cooked eggs and a thick steak on those cooling fins!

Cons: Did not improve cooling by more than a few degrees. went from the stock AMD fan on a AM3 955 to this cooler and temps only improved slightly. after 6 months I started getting ramdom shutdowns. mostly under load(syncing my zune at 70-80% cpu load). opend the case this last time to find "The Horror", My CPU fan not moving and the unit too hot to touch!. Bad fan and no way of knowing it till it was to late.

Overall Review: I wright to you now on that same PC. Thankfully no damage to my AMD 955. But here I sit with a $35.00 worthless fan. It is as quiet as they say, I didnt even here it when it was working, supper quiet when it fails and the PC shutts down. Sure would like to know how hot it had to be to do that, but I dont think I'll intentionally try it. should have payed for a better quality one. 6 year warranty though, guess I'll see if they want to ship me another partially defictive fan for repalcement.

Nice for a cheep MICRO

GIGABYTE GA-MA785GM-US2H AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 785G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Nice Micro. I was hesitant to try my first AMD but glad I did. I't was an easy install and all of it worked from the first time I pressed the power button. Fit into an inexpensive cool master case with reasonable room to run all the cables. lay out is nice and things seem to be just where you would like them. BIOS is differnt than my last Gigabyte board but I was not looking to OC this one. For a HTPC I dont think you could go wrong. The ATI chipset is older but for T.V. or Movies it will work great. A+ Board. Very happy with all my Gigabyte systems.

Cons: Buy good memory. I tried only 2 Gigs of DDR2 800 and it ran slow. I also could not get the board to recognize all 2 Gigs. turns out that the Onboard video also uses half a Gig for dedicated Graphics so I only saw just over 3/4 of my ram aviable. Moved to 4 Gigs of OCZ reaper 1066 and much impruved performance. Still not all is seen for the same reason, hope this helpes you as well.

Overall Review: For my first AMD build I have to conclude that I saved over the compition CPU and some bigger name Mother Bord manufactures and got a great little PC for my budget HTPC. I use this PC for HTPC, All my websurffing and For neverending sync with my wifes 120 Gig Zune. It runs almost 24/7 and records T.V. all day. sleeps like it should and has not given me any issue for it's 4 months of service.
