Pros: excellent specs for the price
easy to install and configure
low profile, thus less obstruction to air cooling of video card
software and driver easy updated
with optical in and optical out
supplied microphone is good
improved sound quality of my 11 year old Logitech Z 680 5.1 speaker system,
used rca direct 6 channels to bypass speaker's Dolby and DTS decoder
Sound quality- low noise, improved bass and high frequency response, excellent soundstage with good separation. very clear voice during gaming
ready for online games with DD and DTS live
useful equalizer for tweaking speakers output
Cons: red led light can not be turned off
rca connection not colored coded, may confuse some users
only 5.1 on both DTS and Dolby Digital, not for a 7.1 system
materials used are standard, not high grade but good enough to enjoy good sound, durability still to be seen given the quality of the hardware
Overall Review: Users need to disable first onboard sound card using device manager ( on windows 7, system/device manager/sound/ Realtek on Asus motherboard) before installing sound card.
Follow instructions and update software and driver accordingly
Got this sound card as a gift from a friend
Pros: Replaced the 230mm sleeve-bearing Cooler Master Case Fan.
Easily fits into side panel of HAF 932 case
Overall Review: Same noise level as the OEM fan it replaced.
For others who want a replacement with the same Cooler Master 230mm model, go to their website, CM store. It's cheaper than this BitFenix unit.
The difference in pricing I think is on the bearing design. Theoretically, BitFenix should last longer than the sleeve type bearing Cooler Master
Pros: Low noise even when installed horizontally , high capacity fan, easily connected to motherboard for speed control
Cons: Had to use regular screws and nuts since it's very hard to use the rubberized thing that came with the unit
Overall Review: This fan is installed beneath the video card. It lowered GPU temperature by 3 degrees C.
As expected some noise at maximum rpm but not distracting at all.
Will update comments in a few months since current horizontal installation seems to be questionable with this type of bearing. Impression is based on comments from other users.
Pros: It's just a cable but it works. Connection contact points seems to be solid, nothing loose so most probably more dependable than the other brands
Cons: non-sleeve cable
Pros: Still working good. No complain since purchase
Overall Review: Full backlighting would make this an exceptional hardware
Pros: It's a power connector. It does its job as expected
Pros: Construction - well made with good materials
Design - excellent
Performance - excellent, capable of more than 100 frames/second in some games, average in all games above 60 FPS
Air Cooling - with two low noise fans, max temperature 60 C idle at 32 C , excellent design allowing hot from card to exit pc case
Installation - very easy inside a full tower case (HAF 932 Cooler Master case)
Warranty- XFX offers the best warranty in the industry, customers service seems to be excellent and on par with EVGA
Cons: Power connector too short
CD driver - as expected, outdated
Latest AMD driver version 14.2 - flickering on screen, crashed pc. Had to use the older version 13.251 to get rid of technical driver issues
Overall Review: With the older version driver 13.251, I was able to play at high settings Crysis 3 and BF3 with no problem at all.
Tips to potential buyers - PSU must be 500W or greater, case must be big enough as this card is long at 10 inches, do not install driver 14.2 until AMD has made this stable (not the fault of XFX)
I am a first time buyer of XFX product. Will consider buying other XFX products in future
Pros: good value, silent running, exactly the same hard drive in my Dell pc that has been in operation with no problem since June 2013
Cons: nothing so far
Overall Review: This is my first Seagate. It may or may not be as reliable as the higher-priced Western Digital Black hard drive. This still remains to be seen
Pros: silent powerful fan, modular cabling, easy to install, reliable brand name, good value, no brainer upgrade for a 300 W Dell (model 660) supplied PSU
Overall Review: cables are good for a full tower case but could be too long for a Dell 660 in a minitower, still no restriction on air flow inside case since only needed cable are connected
Pros: Very fast write and read using Atto Disk Benchmark software
Cons: Reseller offers a 30-day return and replacement but still could not find a warranty from manufacturer
Overall Review: Very comparable to other top brands in this category. However, I am giving this item a 4 instead of 5 stars simply because of the warranty issue
Pros: Fast and reliable as the 750 GB HDD that came in my 2011 custom-made gaming 2011 PC
The black model carries a longer warranty from manufacturer
Cons: Noiser than the other branded HDD
Overall Review: WEI of all HDDs with 7200 rpm remains at 5.9
Pros: Awesome graphics. Nice story of survival. Enjoyable
Cons: Can be boring after playing Battlefield war games. Had stability issues with Windows 7, 64-bit OS . Fix from this board seems to have addressed this issue.
Overall Review: Lesson learned: make sure future purchase of PC games are compatible with operating system and also to read user reviews before finalizing anything
Pros: Awesome game, excellent story at a good price. Stable on windows 7, 64 bit OS.
Cons: Medium quality graphic in the game itself does not make use of my game computer modest capability. Updates did not improve much the visual presentation. BF2 seems to be better in this department
Overall Review: Interested to see what the next release will be.
Pros: Awesome shooter game with great graphics and sound. Very stable run on windows 7- 64 bit OS. Excellent value for this high quality game.
Cons: Patch/update took a long time even even with my 25 Mbps internet connection.
Pros: Easy install. Almost the same performance as the more expensive but older Radeon 9800 Pro it replaced.
This has made my 7-year old desktop ( XP with SP3,. 512 MB Rhambus 1066) runs almost like new. I guess I don't need to buy a replacement computer for now
Cons: Made a mistake of uninstalling old driver ( Radeon 9800 Pro) before installing Radeon HD 3650. The monitor stopped after booting.
It's good I have a cloned hard drive. I installed this drive and run again. The computer installation wizard came out and prompted me to run the CD that came with this card.
It took 10 minutes or so to find the driver for 3600 series card.
Checked device manager. Driver being shown is 3600, the driver for 9800 got erased on it's own. Ran registry cleaner and found nothing.
Overall Review: This card is as good as plug and play. Very easy to install. No need to uninstall the old driver first. The Cd worked in my computer,. no need to update the driver.
Windows 7 user need not get this card as there seems to be some compatibility issue., It's ok with vista though.
This card won't be good for modern games as the interface is ancient AGP. PCI express is the better one.,
Pros: Lightweight, very sharp kit lens, awesome image straight from the camera, very high ISO capability. Best value among micro 4/3 camera. Capable of night photography for as long as there is contrast between subject and background
Cons: Kit lens is slow to focus indoors in the absence of lighting at night. Having a flashlight somehow solved this problem.
Absence of focus assist light. Flash is weak.
Menu requires days to master.

The printed manual is lacking the information needed by the user.
Overall Review: A very capable camera once a user learns it's limitation. It can be as simple as a point and shoot camera and also have several auto and manual options for serious photographers.
A good lens to add to this camera is the 20mm f1.7 Panasonic pancake. With this high speed lens, the built-in flash has become almost redundant.
Pros: Awesome. Good speed.
Cons: Nothing so far.
Pros: This DVD+R batch has one of the best media code MCC004 currently available in the market
I was able to write at 16X, 12X and 8X with disc quality rating ranging ranging 95 to 97%. Excellent numbers indeed.
Cons: Packaging needs to be improved. This was shipped on horizontal
position allowing movement of disc during transport. Fortunately in my case, nothing got damaged.
Overall Review: Buyers beware of Verbatim carrying the CMC Magnetic media code. These are inferior relative to the MCC code.
Pros: Silent, soft touch, durable, and good sensitivity. It's a basic keyboard with enough features to satisfy my needs.
Cons: White letters painted on keys start to get dark in just after one week of moderate usage.
It's not a USB, still good though for older computers.
Pros: Bought this one for backing up to a 3.5" SATA hard drive. Good to find out that on temporary setup I could use the same for a 2.5" SATA notebook hard drive.
Cons: The front face is all black. Hard to see the letter of the on and off position of the power switch slider. This unit won't spin a 2.5" SATA without the power adapter. Led lights up once power is "on".
Overall Review: It's nice to have an LED blinking while cloning a notebook hard drive to an external one. It took 75 minutes to complete the process with the use of Acronis True Image 9 boot cd.
Pros: Replaced the HD in my two-year old Toshiba A-205 laptop. Installed Vista OS with no sweat. Ran SMART check and found zero bad blocks. Runs cool with hardly noticeable noise.
A very good deal- low price, 3-year warranty , low shipping cost, 1 day shipping and the reliability of this brand
Cons: Nothing so far. Too early to evaluate.
Overall Review: This is my fourth purchase of a Western Digital HD. The first one was 5 years ago to replace a dead Maxtor in my Gateway desktop. All WD in my possession are still operational.
Pros: Nice construction. Looks durable. Performs as good as HDMI cables costing at least 6 times. Flawless resolution of HD video and audio.
Cons: Nothing except for the mail-in-rebate.
Overall Review: Excellent shipping by NewEgg. Received item in just one day.
Considering past reviews about damage on their cable because it's thick and heavy, I provided some support to reduce weight-generated stress on cable end connected to HDMI of TV.
Pros: Very satisfactory performance as a burner/writer. No coaster yet with 6 Verbatim DVD+R 16X blank disc. Tried burning at 8x, 12x and 16x. All came out with disc quality of 90 to 98% using Nero CD/DVD Speed tool.
I now have two units of this LG in my system, one for reading and the second one for writing. This burner seems to love working at higher speed of 12x up to 20x with excellent result. I can't ask for more.
Cons: I would be happy to rate this burner at 5 but reading to me is somewhat slow. Using the same tool from Nero, reading maxed at 5 to 5.5x. The burners that these LG replaced were able to attain 16X.
I am also disappointed that I could not boot from a CD even after upgrading the firmware to 1.02. I hope LG will do something about this shortcoming.
Overall Review: I bought these LG as burners. In short, these are keepers.
Next time I'll try burning at maximum speed just to see how it will handle a 16x blank disc.
Pros: Easy installation. Followed exactly the jumper setting of the burner being replaced. Booted the computer and it's ready to go in no time
Excellent burner up to 20x (actual) with good media (TY, Sony and Verbatim). With Nero CD Speed, quality of burnt media ranged from 92 to 98%. Surprisingly, the higher speed had consistently resulted to higher rating.
Easy update of firmware. Downloaded LG ODD Auto Firmware Update program from manufacturer's website. Followed simple procedure and the burner got updated with no sweat. The latest firmware has somehow improved it's already awesome writing capability as well as reading of media from other vendors written with older burners.
This is one of the best performing current burners. With free shipping thrown in, value is exceptional.
Cons: I can't boot from CD including the recovery disc prepared from this burner.
Perceived slow reader. My older burners ( BenQ 1650 and NEC 3540A ) appear to be better in this regard. Latest Samsungs seem to be on the top for reading. For computers designed to have two burners, I would recommed a Samsung as reader and this LG as writer. That would be an awesome combo. The total cost is almost the same as one NEC burner in 2005.
Overall Review: Slow reading seemed to peaked at 5 to 6x while reading a burnt movie using dvd decrypter. BenQ 1650 and NEC 3540A initially read high and then dropped down. This could be due to limitation of my computer hardware and system.
However, in actual copying and burning of a recently released movie with 21% compression, the total time on each burner were almost the same. The LG in fact came out 1 minute faster on average. This is baffling since Nero CD Speed shows slow reading with LG on benchmark, mostly peaking at just 5x. The BenQ and NEC both reached 16x peaked.
All these findings may not apply to other computers due to differences in hardwares, cpu, RAM memory, video card, bus speed etc.
Pros: It works as good as those costing 10 times as much.
Used 2 of these for a total length of 12 feet to connect a usb adapter to a laptop. No signal degradation at all.
Overall Review: It's so cheap, I'll be buying more.
