Hands down the best SSD for Macs

Corsair P128 2.5" 128GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CMFSSD-128GBG2D
Corsair P128 2.5" 128GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CMFSSD-128GBG2D

Pros: I replaced the default rive in a new 13" MacBook Pro with this drive. It is now hands-down the snappiest computer I have EVER used - Period. You really have to use one of these to appreciate just how much faster it makes the machine. Even little things like opening a new Finder of app window, instead of being instant, it's almost like it read you mind, because it's just THERE! Going back to a Mac Pro with a 300GB Raptor is now painful. I now sit in a cafe and do as much work there as possible. I will simply NEVER go back to a Hard Drive again.

Cons: Well, the price, obviously. But that's it. There are no other cons. One might claim the capacity is a con, but really that's a factor of the price as there are larger Corsair SSDs to be had if you have the money.

Slows down your Mac!

Mushkin Enhanced 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Dual Channel Kit Memory for Apple Model 976644A
Mushkin Enhanced 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Dual Channel Kit Memory for Apple Model 976644A

Pros: None.

Cons: Mc is noticably slower with this RAM installed. Went from 4GB to 8GB, brand new MacBook Pro 13", Running an SSD boot drive. Getting lags all over the place, and sometimes the Finder will freeze for about 10 seconds. Can not recommend.

Overall Review: I run a Mac shop - very experienced.

10 years ago LaCie was a good brand

LaCie Rikiki 500GB USB 2.0 2.5" Portable Hard Drive 301909
LaCie Rikiki 500GB USB 2.0 2.5" Portable Hard Drive 301909

Pros: It's small.

Cons: It's made by LaCie. 10 years ago LaCie products were the very best. Today they are some of the worst products you can buy. I own a data recovery house, and let me tell you the truth, almost 50% of the ext drives we see in for recovery are LaCie. Yet they only have about 5% of the market. You do the math and then ask if your data is worth the risk?

Bad RAM. They do not respond...

Mushkin Enhanced 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Dual Channel Kit Memory for Apple Model 976644A
Mushkin Enhanced 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Dual Channel Kit Memory for Apple Model 976644A

Pros: None.

Cons: RAM failed. I posted a review here. They left their email and told me to contact them. I did, and they never replied. Just forget it, it's not worth the few dollars of savings for the all the hassle.
