Nice little laptop

HP C Grade Laptop 8460P Intel Core i3 2310M (2.10GHz) 4GB Memory 250GB HDD 14.0" Windows 10 Home 64-Bit
HP C Grade Laptop 8460P Intel Core i3 2310M (2.10GHz) 4GB Memory 250GB HDD 14.0" Windows 10 Home 64-Bit

Pros: Price but I did buy it the day before they dropped the price! GRRR LOL i3, 4gigs of ram, about 4lbs & WINDOWS 7! :)

Cons: I gave it 4 eggs for this reason. It says Windows 7 Home Premium, it came with Windows 7 Pro which is better but the activation key is Windows 7 Home Premium! I had it all setup (browsers, custom menus, folders, partitions, software) and ready to give to my friend and it wouldn't ACTIVATE!!! So I wiped it :( did a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium used the key on the bottom boom good to go.

Overall Review: On the first boot CHECK which OS it came with! If it came with Windows 7 Pro it won't activate! If you have a Windows Home Premium DVD use it (Advanced install wipe the OEM recovery partition since it's the WRONG OS) install Home Premium and use the Microsoft Key on the bottom of the laptop. I will be getting another one but checking the OS first thing! Before you wipe it login once and copy the SWsetup folder off C:\ it has all the drivers you'll need for the system. Durherm DR-H10 headset

Durherm DR-H10 Computer PC Laptop Notebook Desktop Headphone Headset w/ Noise Canceling Boom Mic Microphone
Durherm DR-H10 Computer PC Laptop Notebook Desktop Headphone Headset w/ Noise Canceling Boom Mic Microphone

Pros: They are a nice set for under $10 and NOT USB! I don't like switching sound sources every time I use my headsets. My motherboard will switch automatically using the front mic & speaker ports. It's super annoying when you start a game and you have NO SOUND! - Oh I'm using USB need to change my default sound device again!

Cons: Two reasons for a three star: Major one for me and I think most people the specs say "8.0 feet - 10.0 feet Cord Length". The box says "2.5m" (8.2 feet) and they are really 5 foot 9 inches from plug to headset! I have extension wires so I won't return them. They were OPEN BOX they do not say OPEN BOX! I'm guessing they were returned because of the super short wires. The three star has nothing to do with NewEgg they have always been great!

Overall Review: They have good sound quality, they are very comfortable on your ears, the mic is very stiff and stays right where you want it. So if you don't mind the really short wires & maybe getting an open box. Buy them at $10 you don't have much to lose! Thanks for Reading. beast-usa

Rosewill RNX-AC1900UB - NO LINUX

Rosewill RNX-AC1900UB, AC1900 Dual Band, Wireless Wi-Fi USB 3.0 Adapter, IEEE 802.11ac, 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz (1300 Mbps / 600 Mbps), Advanced Heat Sink Design, 3 ft Extension Cable, Win 10 Compatible

Pros: It may work in Windows if I wanted to infect my system with Windows 10 or 11.

Cons: Comes with a Linux driver that must compile the driver (make the drive). Which for me after trying for hours does not work. Error Message in case someone else can get it to work. Same message from CD as the downloaded driver. "/home/beast/Downloads/33-166-143_RNX-AC1900UB/Driver/33-166-143_RNX-AC1900UB_Linux/driver/rtl8814AU_linux_v4.3.21.1_24835.20171031/include/osdep_service_linux.h: In function _init_timer: /home/beast/Downloads/33-166-143_RNX-AC1900UB/Driver/33-166-143_RNX-AC1900UB_Linux/driver/rtl8814AU_linux_v4.3.21.1_24835.20171031/include/osdep_service_linux.h:273:8: error: _timer {aka struct timer_list} has no member named data 273 | ptimer->data = (unsigned long)cntx; | ^~ /home/beast/Downloads/33-166-143_RNX-AC1900UB/Driver/33-166-143_RNX-AC1900UB_Linux/driver/rtl8814AU_linux_v4.3.21.1_24835.20171031/include/osdep_service_linux.h:274:2: error: implicit declaration of function init_timer; did you mean _init_timer? [-Werror=implicit-function-declaration] 274 | init_timer(ptimer); | ^~~~~~~~~~ So this is my second try onto another one until I find one that works with linux.

Overall Review: When will these people read the writing on the wall? EVERYTHING runs on Linux, your house, your car, your cell phone... More and more people daily choose privacy, custom settings, SPEED, dependability, never seeing a blue screen over Windows. So far one PCI-E wireless worked perfectly but changes my three monitor inputs every few hours. So I need to switch them back to HDMI/MHL. This one will not install the driver file is there for Linux so they did make an effort. I have 500+ customers and only 147 still use Windows. :) I really hope manufacturers start paying attention and spending the time to support Linux. If you only use windows (WHY? LOL) it probably works. If you use Linux like most people working on their computers that need a stable OS. Try another unit. Thanks for reading beast-usa

Wavlink AX3000 Wifi 6 PCIe 3000Mbps - Win 10 ONLY LOL

Wavlink AX3000 Wifi 6 PCIe 3000Mbps Bluetooth 5.1 Wireless adapter, Intel AX200 WiFi Card 802.11ax/ac Dual Band 2.4Ghz/5Ghz With MU-MIMO OFDMA, Heat Sink, High Gain Aantennas, For Windows 10 64-bit
Wavlink AX3000 Wifi 6 PCIe 3000Mbps Bluetooth 5.1 Wireless adapter, Intel AX200 WiFi Card 802.11ax/ac Dual Band 2.4Ghz/5Ghz With MU-MIMO OFDMA, Heat Sink, High Gain Aantennas, For Windows 10 64-bit

Pros: No drivers needed to run on Xubuntu 20.04 LINUX. The connection is good but not settings the world on fire on speed. Wired I get 928 Mb/s down & 40.02 Mb/s up. On wireless with this adapter I get 673 MB/s down & 38.81 Mb/s up. (5.0ghz NightHawk R8000 Router) It is wireless and wireless is always slower but I was hoping for more speed. But not too many things say "We Support Linux" and this one says Windows 10 ONLY. :) And it works perfectly in LINUX so I'm HAPPY!

Cons: 1. Price (but everything is far over priced right now thanks to you know who.) 2. I would like it to be a little faster or closer to wired speed.

Overall Review: I would recommend this to anyone and if you use Linux (Like everything on the PLANET DOES) you can get this without worrying. No driver hassle just shutdown, plug it in attach the antenna if you like (not really needed depending on your distance from the router). Click "Network" and select your wireless connection. Since I have Xubuntu 20.04 it will work on Ubuntu 20.04 and most likely Mint 19.03 or higher. I think you would be safe using it on any Debian based Linux. EDIT: Extra info as of 12-30-2021 Using this card I have a strange thing happen it's the ONLY wireless thing on my computer. My screens all three will go to "No Signal". At first I thought it was my RX 6900XT but it still happens with the RX580, 2080 TI and 1660 all do the same thing. Then I thought maybe it's the motherboards PCI-E X1 slot so I changed slots to a X16 and it still happens. I found the problem after a few days of frustration. LOL Some how the wireless card changes the input of all three monitors to TV. I use Display port to HDMI 1 HDMI/MHL on all three Sceptre 40" monitors. Pull the card all is fine, put it back in within one day all three screens switch back to TV input. Now I know what it is so I just change them back to HDMI 1 HDMI/MHL and all is fine. But it is a pain so I put the card in one of my other computers using a 40 inch Samsung. And it hasn't happened to that one yet. So I guess it's just my setup? Happens in both Linux and Windows 10. My Specs: Case: Thermaltake Core V71 Tempered Glass. Motherboard: Asus Prime TRX40-Pro. CPU: AMD Threadripper 3970X@Auto OC. Water Block: EK Velocity sTR4 copper & nickel. ASUS TUF Gaming Radeon RX 6900 XT OC 16GB GDDR6

ASUS TUF Gaming Radeon RX 6900 XT 16GB GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0 CrossFireX Support Video Card TUF-RX6900XT-O16G-GAMING
ASUS TUF Gaming Radeon RX 6900 XT 16GB GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0 CrossFireX Support Video Card TUF-RX6900XT-O16G-GAMING

Pros: This card is insanely fast at everything, 16 gigs of memory, low temps, runs perfectly in Linux (Xubuntu 20.04) with a better video card controller then my 2080 TI in Linux. (Radeon Profile) It plays all my games (World War Z, KillingFloor 2, Payday 2, Red Dead Online, Borderlands 1-3... (all on Steam Play in LINUX) on ultra temps about 40C in LINUX. Windows gaming 53C, I only tried a couple games in Win 10 Pro just to test the card then back to the stable OS Xubuntu 20.04. And for real world stuff like Blender, Gimp, Handbrake in Linux 80% to 100% GPU I still have only seen a max temp of 48C in LINUX. I dont use any of those things in Windows 10 Pro its just to slow of an OS. Benchmarking: Well hands down it destroys my RTX 2080 TI XC Ultra. Just go to futuremark and look which cards rule the top 100. :) This card is very fast and yes is has Ray Tracing which of course I never use. :) So for me that is a pointless feature. Leaving benchmark numbers out this time attempted review #3

Cons: 1. The STUPID RGB I had to put tape over the RGB. In windows I guess you can install a bunch of software to control the color. I will try disabling all RGB in the bios. I wouldnt mind just the AMD red. (leaving out why I don't like RGB attempted review #3) 2. The PRICE Im hoping this is just a phase and the prices of everything will drop again some day. My RTX 2080 TI XC Ultra was not cheap but the prices on video cards right now are INSANE.

Overall Review: I would definitely recommend this card to anyone. I have already told all my friends GET THIS CARD if you can find one! :) So if you are Superman or a Marvel Super Hero and play games at 4k for the price I would still get this card. So you will get 77 FPS instead of 93 FPS at 4K. Im good with anything above 60 FPS again Im just a mere human and I have limited eye & brain cognitive abilities. :) Temps: I'm not sure why so many people have such high temps maybe poor air flow in their case, too many other hot things around the video card? My water cooling on the 3970X Threadripper is all external, I have a huge case with three 8.6 inch / 220 mm fans and one 4.7 inch / 120 mm fan. Idle temps in Linux and Windows 29C to 33C on a custom fan curve. Power: I have a Corsair 1050w single rail PSU so no problem there. The highest power use I have seen was in Windows 10 of course 217 watts. In Linux the highest I've seen is 127 watts why do people still use Windows? LOL On idle in Linux around 8 watts and in Windows 10 around 11 watts. Size: The card is big and heavy 13 inches / 330 mm and seems to need support on the right side outside corner. For me my hard drive rack was perfect and the card has a nice steal frame. So I just put a zip tie on the outside right corner right up through the hard drive rack to hold up the right outside corner of the card. Third Attempt at a Review: The first two did not get posted by NewEgg not sure why? I wish they would just say please edit the review. LOL But this time I wrote it in Libre and copied & pasted it so I dont need to start over again. :( My System: Case: Thermaltake Core V71 Tempered Glass. Motherboard: Asus Prime TRX40-Pro. Unitek SATA to USB 3.0, SATA III

Unitek SATA to USB 3.0, SATA III Cable Hard Drive Adapter Converter for Universal 2.5/3.5 SATA HDD/SSD Hard Drive Disk, Include 12V/2A Power Adapter (Black)
Unitek SATA to USB 3.0, SATA III Cable Hard Drive Adapter Converter for Universal 2.5/3.5 SATA HDD/SSD Hard Drive Disk, Include 12V/2A Power Adapter (Black)

Pros: So far it has worked on every SATA drive I have tried. I work on computers for my real job. :) So I need to back-up and replace lots of hard drives. Most of these work on some drives, then not on the next one or give IO errors. So far this one has worked on SSD's 256 gig to 4 TB's. Mechanical drives 1TB to 14 TBs without any errors. (On non damaged drives)

Cons: None.

Overall Review: I would recommend this to anyone copying any kind of SATA drive. I have also used this with Paragon 17 to copy operating systems from SSD's to M.2 drives. The M.2 drive must be installed and the SSD is plugged into this unit. I have copied SSD to SSD, SSD to mechanical, mechanical to SSD, mechanical to mechanical. Thanks for reading beast-usa
