Great 120hz monitor
Pros: Brilliant and sharp colors . Games get an upgrade when played on the monitor. I used to own an HP 2709m 27" 60hz ...and games looked good on that monitor. The moment I fired this one up it was night and day as far as the sharpness and full details from games ie: MW3,BF3. They just simple look better on this monitor. And 120hz makes it feel like REAL-TIME movement and response time.
Cons: Slight bleed on bottom right while on a full black screen..hardly noticeable at all unless I look for it . 1 dead pixel..also hardly noticeable but that is luck of the draw with any lcd monitor.
Overall Review: Kinda disappointed to find out that a week later New egg dropped the price by a whole $100. I bought for $699 and now its $599?? Feels like a stab to the heart.
Good upgrade but not SUPERB
Pros: -Coolers temps in SLI compared to gtx580 sli -20% faster than gtx 580 SLI ( at least in my observations, others have said 30%) -2x 6 pin pci-e connectors opposed to 6+8pin config ( which didn't matter because my PSU supports 6+8pin) -decent drivers out of the box
Cons: -as usual, price tag $1,000 for 2 of these -price per performance not that justifiable -expected more like 30-40% performance increase from a gtx 580 SLI -2 way SLi should handle ANYTHING but it doesn't, still get some dips in BF3 with ULTRA @1080p 120hz ( but the minimums ARE better than gtx580sli which used to go down to the 40's, at least now the minimum is in the mid 50's on intense scenes) -adding on above statement--@1080p these should shine, I would understand 1200p but not 1080p
Overall Review: Still giving it 5 eggs due to EVGA+ Newegg customer service quality. The cards ARE very good, don't get me wrong, but I think I expected TOO much. Possibly someone coming from a gtx295 or even gtx 480 would RAVE about the upgraded performance. But if coming from gtx580 SLI, you won't notice a justifiable difference. At least I was able to sell off my 2x gtx580 on the bay for $640, making this a #360 upgrade :)
