Pros: Mesh back is nice. Seat is firm yet conforming. rolls nicely. Seems solidly made
Cons: Assembly was fairly awful. The screws come installed into the body of the chair for the arm rests or into the back. The manufacturer used an egregious amount of blue loctite and it probably took me over 2 hours to get the screws out. The ones in the body were very difficult to get out but the ones for the back were impossible. I had to submerge them and the plate they were attached to in boiling water to soften the loctite, after that however it was smooth sailing
Overall Review: Don't know if the guy that put mine together was just a little overzealous in his tightening and loctite application or if this is standard. Happy with it so far but the assembly stage could have been loads easier
Pros: Installed easily
Cons: Poor signal strength and speeds
Overall Review: Bought as a refurb so maybe that is the problem. Can hold iPad 2 next to the antennas on case and do a speed test on the desktop And iPad at same time with this card getting on average 5mbps slower downloads.
Pros: Renders well, NVIDIA always makes a good product and their website is easy to use to find drivers. A solid higher end card without some of the bells and whistles, and price, of the super high end models
Cons: Runs a little hot because the fan speed doesn't change from what I can tell when under load. Not taking an egg because it took 5 minutes to get afterburner and set the default fan speed 20% higher which keeps it cool
Overall Review: It seems most of the bad reviews are issues not directly related to the card. Criticisms for a lack of features (sli for example) are bogus if proper research into the product wasn't done before.
NVIDIA has performance drivers on their site. No one should ever use the mfg. drivers on the disc or whatever windows auto-installs which is what is probably wrong with several of these low ratings
Price kind of sucks but it always does on professional equipment (and lack of real competition)
Pros: Nice set of I/O ports, fits an aftermarket CPU fan well, OC friendly. A good all around board for when all the bells and whistles of higher end boards aren't needed
Cons: RAID 0 with two 1TB drives created many problems. After first setting everything up I noticed the mouse jerked around every once in a while but I figured no big deal. Flash forward a month and the machine is unusable because of the constant stutters. Recreated the RAID, reinstalled windows, and updated the BIOS but still had the same issue. Broke the RAID and just went ahead with the two drives in non-RAID everything works fine now
Overall Review: I found some other complaints about the RAID controller here and in other places but didn't pay it any mind. First time I have used a Gigabyte board and would probably use another one in the future if this gets resolved. I RMA'd a DOA Asus board for this one, need this computer up and running too much to take it all apart and get it all taken care of. Not having the RAID will undoubtedly slow down some of my applications but oh well...
Pros: Good motherboard for the price
Cons: DOA. Returned it and am going with a different brand. It seems that a lot of the sub $150 Asus boards have been DOA or otherwise defective.
Overall Review: I have been a loyal ASUS customer for several years but always using their performance line (Rampage etc..) Went to build a workstation for my girlfriend and figured she didn't need lots of bells and whistles. First DOA ASUS board but it seems to be a trend on their lower end models
Pros: Does a very good job cooling
Cons: Pain to install. Very cramped on many boards that have heatsinks around the CPU. Unless you are using a performance board that has a large amount of space between the CPU and RAM some RAM you use with heatsinks will not fit.
Overall Review: I have been using this basic unit in various iterations for 3 years on multiple builds. It does a very good job cooling while overclocking. It is also monstrous in size and its bizarre clip system to affix the unit to the mount is a huge hassle. You need to use a large and spacious motherboard (generally of the performance type) to allow enough room for all of the heatsinks that are on modern motherboards as well as RAM which has larger heatsinks.
A great product but it needs to be reengineered. I am not taking off any eggs because I knew these issues going in but just be conscious of the size of this thing.
Pros: Fast, overclocks like a dream
Overall Review: Buy IT!!!
