Good Deal
Pros: Packaged well Good overall condition Clean insides Everything works Mostly original parts
Cons: None, see comments regarding parts
Overall Review: Shipped in a large well padded box. Condition is good overall with very little scuffs. Shipping from CA USA took a while. -1 for no os disc, no books, replacement kbd and mouse, 160GB hd. In fairness the item listing is correct, but still... It would have been nice if they included the manuals and OS disc. The G5 manuals can be dl'ed as PDFs. It is not the original Apple Pro keyboard and mouse, yet they are still available as new-old stock at many Mac stores or bulk. The M9748LL/A typically shipped with a 250GB hard drive, not 160GB. The unit I received had 1GB of memory (yay). If you buy one of these and want to get it back to stock, expect to pay a few $hundred more to source the G5 manuals, OSX 10.4 or 10.5 disc, Apple Pro keyboard and mouse, Apple/WD 250GB HD, and even a bit more if you want to add the optional Airport, Bluetooth, or 56k Modem, but most of this can be had for a decent price on auction sites or mac stores.
I will never buy these again!
Pros: - No pro's at all
Cons: 1). The supplied short screws that go through the plate bottom into the 2.5in SSD are the wrong thread screws. You have to force them into the SSD drive threads. 2). The screw holes on the sides of the plate for the 3.5in bay mount are not standard 3.5in "hard drive" threads in the plate so you can't use your 3.5in drive bay's screws. This is a must for many drive cages, mine included. 3). The plate is too short to reach all four of the 3.5in drive bay screw holes, so you can only get two screws into the sides. The plate needs to be the length of a standard 3.5in drive to reach all side screws, this plate is not.
Overall Review: Really badly designed. Everything is designed wrong from the plate mounting holes to the included screw thread types. A real shame!
So Good That I Bought Two
Pros: - A good price for what you get. - Packaged well for shipping. - Both of mine were in really good physical condition (B+ or A-). - Both booted up fine. - Mine included Windows 7 Pro instead of 7 Home Premium.
Cons: - They included a really inexpensive keyboard and mouse set but they do the job. - Mine included only 80GB hard drive instead of 160GB, but I swapped it out for a 240GB SSD. - There were four hardware drivers on the Windows Image that were not included with the computer, so I had to uninstall those to clean the system up: Mediatek RT2870 Wireless LAN Card driver (WiFi Dongle), 2x Tenda Wireless LAN Card driver (WiFi Dongle), and SUNIX Co Golden Adapter Driver (PCI Parallel Port card). I have no idea why this junk was on the Windows image.
Overall Review: - I bought these two Lenovo units for a CCTV Camera computer and it works great. It replaced a Mini-ITX Intel Atom system that died (the Atom system was also under-powered, so the camera settings were quadrupled in quality with the Lenovo). I'm using one Lenovo system right now, with the second Lenovo system as a spare. Getting two was still good for the price. With minimal software installed they work just fine for a CCTV computer.
Excellent Drive
Pros: - Good quality - Good speed
Cons: - None
Overall Review: I am using this WD NVMe drive in an ASUS X99 ROG motherboard with an Intel i7-6950X 10-Core processor, as the Windows OS Boot drive. Works great. I probably should have bought the drive model that includes the integral heatsink, but monitoring the drive temps it seems fine.
Not Impressed, Tons of issues.
Pros: - Small size. - Decent price.
Cons: - Nothing but problems in setting the unit up. - Nothing but problems in using the unit. - Really slow bootup times. - I have zero confidence in the unit.
Overall Review: - During setup when creating the drive volume it went into an infinite loop on the dialog and wouldn't let me finish creating the volume. I exited the volume creation and tried again, but it then claimed that 100% of the drive was already used and that I couldn't create a volume. It said that since there was no volume I couldn't use the drive, but it stated that all drive space was used in a volume that wasn't actually there. I had to power the unit off and on and redo the volume creation twice before it finally worked. - During login it goes into a continual loop asking me to log in over and over again a random number of times until it finally logs in, I typically get the login screen three to four times in a row before it will finally go to the desktop. - The Main Menu icons don't render on the page half of the time. - Using any of the apps like the Resource Monitor actually slows down the performance of the drive transfers. - I have zero confidence in this unit for the long term. I did hours of research before buying it, and I thought that it would be the best brand buy since the other brands continually get worse reviews, but if this is the best, I would hate to see the worst. - I am using this unit with two 16TB drives as a file archive in my small personal business. I don't work directly on the NAS, I just use it for a set of network file shares that I Robocopy Mirror my computer system data files to.
Good but Noisy
Pros: - Lots of storage space - Decent speed for a magnetic drive
Cons: - Lots of crunching and popping for noise - Only 14TiB after formatting
Overall Review: I am using this 16TB drive in a Synology NAS, my plan is to add a second 16TB drive soon. I bought this specific drive because it was in the approved drive list for the NAS. The NAS is for business-wide file archiving, I don't use it for working directly off of the NAS shares, so I need lots of storage size for archival purposes but performance is not as important.
Good Quality Refurbished Computers
The computers were really clean and well packed. The computer model was different but the specifications were the same, except the Windows was Pro Edition instead of Home, which was a bonus.
Great Seller
A nice computer case at an excellent price.
