Good video card for HTPC
Pros: Much better than graphics from the CPU. Performs much better than I thought it would. Takes a load off the processor when decoding video files when viewing, it allows the CPU to just work on the decoding. It will also play games(i.e. WoW) on good settings. Not having the requirement of a pci 6/8 pin power connector is why I purchased it.
Cons: none
Still got a bad one after the date set by Asus as to when they would be fixed.
Pros: When it doesn't overheat it plays any game I want to.
Cons: Overheats quickly is more demanding games. Supposedly cards sold after January 20th 2020 would not have the heatsink issue, but the one I received did. The drivers for the card are not good. It would constantly crash when running a game with DX12, but when I made it run in DX11 things were fine and didn't black screen/crash.
Overall Review: If you can get one of the newer versions of the card I'm sure it will be amazing.
DOA
Pros: I'm sure it would be a very fast drive if it wasn't DOA. Newegg was quick to respond and issue a RMA.
Cons: DOA
Works great
Pros: Easy and quick installation onto TWC 8300 HD DVR.
Cons: That I did not purchase one of these sooner so that I could keep all my recordings of Lost.
Decent GPS Device
Pros: Removal of the external antenna is nice from the previous models.
Cons: My device has the Sirf Chipset and still takes 1+ minute on startup to find my location. It also would be nice if it showed your speed while it was giving directions.
Great Speaker System
Pros: This system has great sound reproduction. It will get quite loud without emitting bad quality sound. The headphone jack on the control unit is really nice.
Cons: I wish the connections for the S/PDIF & Optical in were on the Sub like the speaker connections.
Overall Review: Going from an old Cambridge Soundworks 5.1 system to this was like when I went from a CRT to a LCD.
