Cons: Win 7 - Didn't want to install. Wouldnt scan on demand. Used Kaspersky Frre cloud basic instead
Overall Review: Worthless!
Pros: Price, Quality, Battery Life, Features. Lenovo is a very well built product.
Cons: The only thing that annoys me about it and the rest of the laptop/notebooks on the market, is that the touch pad is off to the left and it makes you use both hands, if you are right handed. A little bit awkward.
Overall Review: After having Toshiba laptops for years, I couldn't find one configured the way I wanted and at a price point I was comfortable with. I saw this in the Newegg Columbus Day Sale emailer and picked it up for less than laptops with a lot less processing power and quality. The Intel i5 has a ton of processing power and runs everything I have, effortlessly. The 4 cores and 3.2GB Turbo make multi-tasking a breeze. I swapped in a spare OCZ Vertex 3 SSD (loaded with Win 7 Pro) and 8GB of G. Skill matched RAM. Wow!! It's a Rocket Ship! Boot to Desktop in less then 10 seconds. Another thing is that it came with the 6 cell Li-Cylin battery. Many of the other brands are coming with the non-replaceable batteries and AMD is integrating the A series processors for laptops, into the MB. Didn't want any of that. I can't believe how long the charge lasts. After 3 hours on high-perf, it still had 68%. I'm "Really" Impressed with this laptop. Only problem is that I won't have the patience to use the pc's at work ..
Pros: I was surprised to find the length of the wires worked fine with just a little rearranging. Just can't get a decent surround sound from it. Rear speakers are weak and too much echo. I'm using the on-board sound from my ASUS M2N-SLI motherboard and Vista Ultimate 64 bit. I've never had any sound problems with it before, using an antique Cambridge Sound Works 2.1 computer speaker setup that, Quite Frankly, blows the Z506 system away. But, with that said ..for $75 it sounds fine and depending on what you're listening to (e.g.) Music, Video, CD etc, sometimes you get a pretty decient sound. Plenty loud, but the rear surround speakers just don't want to work hard enough.
Cons: If the rear surround speakers would work better ..it would be nice.
Overall Review: Yes, my on-board sound is 5.1 capable.
Pros: After reading the Reviews of past problems with interference it seemed as though they had addressed that problem with this model. I have no problems. I sit on the couch, about 8 feet away and play games, watch videos and browse the net. the ergonomics are perect and the trackball and buttons are just right. I really makes it too easy to be a Couch Potato!
Overall Review: I like it!
Pros: Wasn't really expecting anything spectacular from an Out of the Box Water cooling solution. Boy, was I surprised! Have OC my AMD 1090t to 4.0 Ghz and had No Problems. Amazing!
Cons: I initially installed with the OEM grease and had problems. It probably was my fault in the initial install and I guess I Booger'd the grease up a bit. I like to test install and that didn't work well with the OEM grease. Then after I realized I needed to loosen everything up, Install, Twist, and Hold Tight and then tighten everything securely at that point, it worked great. I also scraped and cleaned the OEM grease off and used Arctic Silver Ceramique as per their instructions. Amazing Results!
Overall Review: Can't say enough about the results. I got this to fit an Antec case and it fit perfectly. As a note I don't run the pc @ 4.0ghz. Just wanted to try to see what would happen. I run the machine oc @ 3.5ghz with the Turbo feature set at 3.9ghz and have never had a problem. btw, I use this machine for Graphic Design.
Pros: Scraped and cleaned the OEM grease off and applied the Arctic Silver Ceramic as per their instructions. I still can't believe I can get 4.0 Ghz from my AMD Thuban 1090t.
Cons: None what so ever
Overall Review: As a note I use an Antec Kuhler H2O 620 with an additional fan to push..
Pros: I finally received my Rebate after 5 months. Ok, maybe they were swamped, but 5 months? I called and emailed repeatedly and even had BBB of NY send a letter. I do understand as a Small Business owner that sometimes during the growth process we can get a little inundated. That's fine. Thank You, Xigmatek. Better Late than Never.
Cons: As for the Dark Knight cpu fan, it performed as well as expected, though I have since gone to Water Cooling In A Box products with incredible success. Also, remember, you will need to buy the additional Cross Bow adapter to use an AMD cpu.
Overall Review: As a note, I'm 25 for 25 when it comes to Rebates for products bought from Newegg. Be sure to follow the instructions to a "T" and keep copies of all your correspondence. I'll definitely continue to take advantage of Rebate Offers.
Pros: Really FAST!! over HDD. Getting 480mbs read
435mbs write with Crystal Disk Mark. 17-18 sec from POST to Desktop. Windows Experience score 7.9.
Cons: ..but if this is your first SSD install read a lot and know what you need to do to get optimum performance. I feel as though I've gone through the learning curve.
Overall Review: I know they are advertised at up to 525mbs read and 500 mbs write, but everything I have read seems to say there can be a difference in advertised and actual. I've optimized everything and can't seem get to 500mbs, but this is fast enough. These SSD's are great. Wouldn't build a PC without one, now. I was so impressed I decided to get (2) to run in a RAID "O" array and just happened to discover they were in the Shell Shocker for the Day.
Pros: I needed the small Hex drivers to repair my cell phone..
Cons: The handle does seem to loosen up but not bad enough for occassional use. If I had to use it every day I would find a better quality set ..and one that was magnetized.
Pros: This case is of excellent quality while being the easiest to dis-assemble of any case I've ever had. Even though it is a budget priced case the engineering is remarkable. The front cover removes very easy and the fans on the front are each housed in there own cage that is hinged and easily accessed for fan removale or maintenance. Good solid construction with a little heft but not heavy. The Gigabyte 970a-d3 MB fits perfectly as well as plenty of room for the 6870 video card and the Khuler 620 cpu cooler. There are an abundance of large thumb screws, stand offs and accessories for any build. Simple metal thumb screws for drive attachment as well as (3) 120mm fans for front and rear and a 140mm fan up top. All w/blue LED's included. The engineers really paid attention to the details. All this for $39.99 w/the $10 rebate. How can you go wrong?
Overall Review: It's nice to see that the designers and engineers of pc components are really trying to improve there products while listening to the builders.
Pros: PnP. Works great. No problems. Added 4GB more for a total of 8GB after I installed Win7 64bit. Recognized right off. Multi-tasking is a breeze. Multiple applications open along with multiple website tabs and Aero full on, plus printing from external HD. Don't play games much so can't attest to that, but movie streams look amazing on my 40" Sony Bravia LCD.
Cons: Non what-so-ever..
Overall Review: Have used for years in different builds and I've never had a problem wirh G.Skill RAM.
AMD Athlon/2 6400+ 3.2 Ghz
(2) XFX GeForce 8600GT XXX /in SLI
8GB pc2 6400
Pros: Is very stable, fast and EZ to manuver. Wow! Installing a new hard drive and OS has never been easier ..and it installs alot faster than any previous Windows OS.
Cons: I was really disappointed that Win 7 really isn't any different than Vista. I've never had a single problem with my Vista/Toshiba laptop and only decided to install Windows 7 64bit and 4GB's of RAM (up from 2GB) and a bigger and faster HD, because I thought it would take better advantage of my 64bit processor, but I see very little, if any improvement.
Overall Review: I'm going to install Windows 7 in a desktop PC with a 3.0 GHz AMD 4 core processor, 1GB Fermi 460 graphic card and 8 GB of RAM (from XP pro), so maybe that will be a better comparison.
