Great Keyboard

ROCCAT Ryos MK Pro Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with Per-Key Illumination - Brown Cherry MX Key Switch (ROC-12-851-BN)
ROCCAT Ryos MK Pro Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with Per-Key Illumination - Brown Cherry MX Key Switch (ROC-12-851-BN)

Pros: --Works as it should out of the box --Mechanical keys (I love how there is more than one choice for key switches on this keyboard. Sucks to find the things I want on a keyboard, except it only comes with one type of switch and it's not the one I want) --Can play games that don't allow custom key mapping the way I want --Can customize each key with macro strings or real time recording --Easy-Shift function adds a second layer of custom commands to each key --Extensive options for the keyboard settings --Doesn't slide around on desk and feels solid

Cons: --Kinda pricey --Only blue backlighting (the roccat isku fx has 16.8m color palate. why can't this one?) --I don't like how the usb ports come out at an angle --The wrist rest isn't detachable or adjustable. It's not completely uncomfortable, but I'd prefer it a little higher or to be able to use my own rest --Lacking instructions or guide on how to fully utilize the keyboard software

Overall Review: --Not big of a deal, but I kinda wish the usb and audio plugs were gold plated. I just don't like how cruddy normal ones feel after old age. --The rubbery keys were a bit tough for me to get used to, but it's not so bad. --I kinda wish the W key was a little bit more to the right. When I'm in the wasd position I usually have to tilt the keyboard a little to feel comfortable, otherwise my middle finger is sitting on top of the right edge of W. But I guess that's what I have a Nostromo for. --The software sure needs a manual, but it's not all that difficult if to figure out for basic needs. Just need to spend a little time looking and trying things out. --I'm still not used to the brown switches, but I love them. I still bottom out when I type the tactile bump isn't really necessary unless I'm practicing to type or press lightly because I usually bottom out anyway. The sensitivity is perfect for me though. --The keyboard in general is kinda loud when you bottom out. --I can't wait to get a roccat kone xtd mouse and use the 'talk' function. --The backlighting effects and the neat things you can do like setting the lights to act like an ammo indicator are really gimmicky and I don't see much purpose for it since I don't look at my keyboard while I'm gaming. I should hope most people look at their screens while gaming. Kinda useless to keep track of keystrokes and have achievements for it, But sometimes gimmicks are fun.
