Most Favorable Review

Works great

GIGABYTE GN-WP01GS Wireless Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g PCI Up to 54Mbps Wireless Data Rates
GIGABYTE GN-WP01GS Wireless Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g PCI Up to 54Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: Low price Includes low profile bracket for slim cases (some "low profile" cards do not actually include the low profile bracket) Works great Card feels well built and packaging looks professional

Cons: none

Overall Review: I'm very pleased with this card. I was a bit worried I'd end up with a piece of junk if I bought something this cheap, but I have been pleasantly surprised. This card took a connection that was always at 0-1 "bars" of signal strength with a USB 802.11b adapter dongle and boosted it to ~3 bars with 802.11g! After moving the router a bit closer the connection is now steady at 5 bars. Couldn't be happier.

Elegant and Robust

ULTRA ULT40273 Aluminum 3.5" Silver SATA USB 2.0 & eSATA Hard Drive Enclosure
ULTRA ULT40273 Aluminum 3.5" Silver SATA USB 2.0 & eSATA Hard Drive Enclosure

Pros: Works with my 2TB drive Rock-solid milled aluminum construction Excellent cooling performance Sleek and relatively minimalistic appearance About as compact as a 3.5" enclosure can possibly get Inline A/C adapter (as opposed to the ones that plug directly into the wall and block other outlets)

Cons: Not toolless--drive installs with screws (this might actually be a pro if you need the extra physical robustness)

Overall Review: I'm delighted with this purchase. The body of this enclosure appears to be milled out of one solid aluminum block, and the end-caps and outer frame are also solid aluminum. There is not a single piece of plastic anywhere in this thing. It's easily the most solid and substantial drive enclosure I've seen. It's also quite beautiful. One could easily mistake it for a Lian Li product if it weren't for the giant ULTRA logo printed on the side and some subtle, polished aluminum embellishments around the edges. Normally I'm bothered by such prominent branding, but there's something kind of adorably cheeky and kitsch about the "ULTRA" moniker that I can't help but enjoy.

Delighted So Far

Konica Minolta magicolor 2500W A00V011 Personal Up to 20 ppm 2400 x 600 dpi, 1200 x 600 dpi (default), 600 x 600 dpi Color Print Quality Color USB electrophotographic laser Printer
Konica Minolta magicolor 2500W A00V011 Personal Up to 20 ppm 2400 x 600 dpi, 1200 x 600 dpi (default), 600 x 600 dpi Color Print Quality Color USB electrophotographic laser Printer

Pros: *Barely more expensive than a decent B&W laser *Low cost per page compared to inkjets and even some other color and B&W lasers *Great quality for both images and text *It's an effing color laser!!

Cons: *If you refill the toner cartridges you have to also buy replacement microchips for the cartridges or the printer won't allow you to use them (almost all manufacturers do this, though, and refilling still saves loads of money). *Text quality not quite as great as a good B&W laser, but still quite good *A tad large, but manageable *The lights in my room dim everytime I print something and about every 10 seconds when the printer is idle (but not in powersave mode). I solved this by reducing the powersave timer to 5 minutes. Could be my room's circuit is just getting overloaded. Takes a little bit of time to start printing (~15 sec).

Overall Review: IMO the pros far outweigh the cons. This printer cost barely more than the B&W HP LaserJet 1022 my mother has, and it gives me the option of printing in beautiful color. Pretty much a no-brainer. I'm really delighted!

Good Deal

MSI GeForce FX 5200 128MB DDR AGP 4X/8X Video Card FX5200-TD128LF
MSI GeForce FX 5200 128MB DDR AGP 4X/8X Video Card FX5200-TD128LF

Pros: *Fanless *Windows Media Center compatible *Low profile for slim cases (doesn't include low profile bracket, however) *About as cheap as they come

Cons: *No component output *Doesn't include low profile bracket (so stupid!)

Overall Review: Great card for a super-low budget rig or a setup in which silence is important (HTPC, for example, which is what I use it for). Haven't had any problems with it. Just don't expect to play any newer games on it at remotely decent settings.
