Pros: Fit and converted perfectly on my Lenovo T61. Awesome performance increase. colf boot to sending an e-mail=75sec.. was >>10 minutes before ( OK My outlook had gotten blotted so may not be totally fair). 0.8 gig access data bases open as fast as you hit the enter key..wow Easy conversion and a great deal. Thanks newegg!
Cons: none.. well maybe the two usb cords... they get strange looks in airports ( My old internal drive is duct-taped to the monitor) hey it works, but security gives it extra attention.
Overall Review: The only issue was the time it took to parse the data files from the Lenovo HD to a backup so that I could ghost the drive. In hindsight it would have been faster to do a regular back up of all the data files then delete them, ghost the OS and programs to the SSD and then restore the files to the old internal (now external) drive. Doing a normal move of the files took hours . This is not an issue unique to this kit.
easy transfer, easy install
Pros: all performing as expected under heavy business data analytics use, easy to install , got a great deal
Cons: nothing.. all running just as I hoped with a easy install
it works OK
Pros: it works as intended, If you don't mind them flopping around in use, the fact that the cord tucks away is nice for when not in use.
Cons: it cord is really short, its nice how it folds up into the case, but if it wrapped once to allow another 2" of cord then it would be possible to attach the reader to the back of a laptop monitor. As it is not there is no alternative to having it just flop around on a short leash. One also must find the drivers for the local system. IOGear could do a MUCH better job communicating that in the set up process instructions.
Overall Review: I am on a new client so this is my first experience with a card reader. I was taken aback when the service tech at IOGEAR responded to my issues ( card reader was not working ) with "if the light is on then the card reader is working, the rest is up top you" really?? Eventually he sent a link with the Gov department level links for software updates. It solved the problem, but I could have done without the initial snarky comment. Why they cannot (or just don't) include some discussion about the need to add department specific drivers in the set up instructions is beyond me.
Won't know that it doesn't work until it fails
Pros: Great price and fast delivery. No signal lose.
Cons: None so far, but until lightning strikes there is no way to know how well it works. If something ever happens I will update this with a note and a change to rating
Overall Review: I bought two. One for my Wilson DB pro as recommended and one for the incoming cable. We have had three routers and several cable modems get fried end even when unplugged from the power, but left connected to the cable. Our cable regularly gets hit by lightning and the Comcast equipment gets fried 1-2x/yr too. So we do have a lightning issue I would suggest that they advise how/where to get replacement fuses
worth every penny
Pros: Fast and easy and the referbished seems quite OK. Works fine with the 3 burned out (by lightning surges) linksys routers now serving as extra access points. We have as many as 9 PCs and various other printers, phones and tablets on the router at once.. it seems to handle all with ease. The 5gigHz band connection to my iPad is much faster than the previous router
Cons: none so far
Overall Review: I added a wilson electronics lightning 75 ohm surge protector ( fuse) to the incoming comcast line. Because as often as I got up from sleeping through a T-Storm to unplug the system, you only need one strike to sneek up on you and you need to buy a new router.
