Long wait, no low-pro braket11/1/2019 1:35:18 PM

Pros: Power and front panel connectors on the back of the card for shallow cases

Cons: False information about shipping time frame, no low profile bracket, and not Windows 10 compatible.

Overall Review: Who sells a PCIe expansion card that is not Windows 10 compatible? Answer: someone sneakily trying to unload obsolete stock

This a review of MSI's poor tech support11/22/2018 7:50:05 AM

Pros: It was a descent FM2+board that worked fine for two years before it went bad

Cons: I was issued an RMA but was informed that they didn't have anymore of these boards so they sent me the Grenade version...which lasted 2 more months before I sent it in and was sent back a similar board (possibly the same one) which didn't work plus it was sent back without the CPU bracket. Luckily I had an old board and was able to get the part off of it. When I contacted them to complain that this one was doing the exact same thing as the last one, I was totally ignored. The 3 year warranty ran out today and i'm left with a piece of junk board. Was that their plan all along?

Overall Review: I've been a loyal customer and bought probably 20 MSI boards over the years and I had always been impressed with their price/quality/feature ratios but over the last year of so, I've really lost confidence in their products but more especially their tech support.

"Quality and customer service are our top priorities."4/5/2018 8:52:26 AM

Pros: Good price point; not really able to rate it.

Cons: I can't find out why this kit is apparently not compatible with my motherboard. I'll admit I did not do my homework and was taken aback when the RAM instructions that came with my AB350 PRO4 listed so many of what to do and not to do depending on which Ryzen you use in your board. Just about every model of G. Skill beginning with F4-2133C15D -xxxxx appears to be compatible with my board but not the 16GVR. But why? I'm looking for the clarification before I have to do an expensive return of this RAM so I can buy something compatible.

Overall Review: I've asked the question in numerous venues with no responses to my queries and I've emailed and attempted to call G. Skill tech support but they don't answer the phone and don't respond to email. I hope this post gets their attention.

Manufacturer Response:
. Hi John We will be glad to help with any issue you may have. The motherboard manufacturer list of memory kits does not contain all of the compatible memory models. Some are released or made compatible at a later time, and others the manufacturer may not have had available for testing. If you have the RAM in hand, install them and they should work great. This is a plug and play memory kit that can work in most DDR4 computers. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly. Customer Service??9/1/2017 2:53:08 PM

Pros: Economical ITX form factor, very simple, yet has many features.

Cons: The cons are more about ECS customer service, or, rather, the lack thereof. I've written to them twice and called and left a message twice yet I get no responses to my simple inquiry concerning the screw to secure the WiFi card to the mini PCIe slot. As I explained to ECS support, as well as Newegg customer service, I've bought several motherboards from other manufacturers with a mini slot and they ALL furnished the screw. Why can't they respond to my question, why did they not include the screw, and why, at least, give me the size of the screw so I can purchase one locally if I even can?

Overall Review: I've had similar experiences with ECS and they aren't the company we dealt with when they offered an early economical AMD motherboard. Remember the K7S5A circa 2001?

I expected better2/18/2016 1:03:35 PM

Pros: Very attractive ITX case, USB 3.0 front panel, very roomy for what it is, and reasonably priced if I actually receive the rebate in a timely manner. But based on what I've read here, that is apparently iffy.

Cons: Where to start. :( 12 screws to get inside to mount stuff! Unreal! I/O plate mounting hole too oversized to keep the pate snapped in place{I had to tape it in place until the board was mounted and now that's what keeps it there. Disappointing!) HDD screw holes in drive mount cage are too far back causing the HDD to keep the top from going on at the back.(I'll have to drill or punch extra holes to make it work. Unforgiveable! No reasonable owner's manual or directions for proper implementation and component installation, i.e., it says it can use a full ATX power supply or an sfx but there are no directions to mount either(but I figured it out). Likewise, specs say either a 3.5", 2.5". or SSD can be mounted but other than the full sized drive, I can't figure out how to mount the smaller drives. DIRECTIONS WOULD BE HELPFUL Raidmax!

Overall Review: I've built many computer systems and a good number of those have been ITX. I've dealt with at least 10 different Mini-ITX cases but this is by far the most frustrating of all my ITX builds due, in my opinion, to poor quality of mechanics and poor engineering. Note: I think I was disappointed with the last Raidmax case I bought and if I recall correctly, that involved a no-show rebate. I'm pretty much done with this outfit.

It was good while it lasted12/4/2015 7:59:43 AM

Pros: It was the right card at the right time for a HTPC build and had worked flawlessly until 3-4 months ago

Cons: I don't really have any cons except that it stopped working without warning or apparent cause. My main concern is now having to deal with Zotac tech support which based on a past experience with a motherboard is something I do not look forward to

Overall Review: Give the poor guy his MTV!

Low-pro: after-thought? UPDATE10/21/2015 7:00:46 PM

Pros: Listed in my original review on 10/06

Cons: I forgot one of the most frustrating aspects of using this card in its low-pro configuration. The Molex plug for aux power is flush with the top of the PCB and pointing up. Seriously? A matting plug will stick up another .5" but there is absolutely no room in a low pro case for this connection. What do you figure ORICO, cut a hole in the top cover for it? Sheeez :( I took another egg for this but I should have taken 2

Overall Review: The fact that the manufacturer has not addressed my specific concerns speaks volumes as to how they value customers.

Tech support out to lunch...permanently?1/9/2015 3:54:14 AM

Pros: Small, inexpensive after rebate. Seemed to work fine until it failed

Cons: Tech support is non-responsive at best and non-existent at worse. Why would they proclaim to have a tech support department if they can't respond to RMA requests that are near a month old?

Overall Review: I had to enter the security pass phrase every time I rebooted the computer. This is most likely my last On Networks purchase

No external drive bays?1/7/2015 2:29:24 PM

Pros: Good price after rebate, good quality, very attractive, many special features and accessories, front USB 3.0 ports

Cons: Very large when considering that it was supposed to be a small case. And what's with the not external drive bays? So now everything has to be USB, i.e., optical drive, card reader, etc.?

Overall Review: I probably would not have bought this if I had been paying closer attention and realized there were no external drive bays. Well, at least I don't have to search around the globe looking for white peripherals/external drives.

IMC ZB02911/27/2014 4:49:43 PM

Pros: Extremely good quality video and audio output in an inexpensive package

Cons: The base mount is so useless I can't even imagine why they would even bother putting it on especially considering how stiff the cable is. Also, no kind of third party utility to help edit the camera settings .

Overall Review: For the price you can make it work

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Blacklist Deluxe Edition9/14/2014 8:19:46 AM

Pros: It is a Clancy Splinter Cell game and it was reasonably priced

Cons: I had no idea that it was 99% third-person play which I hate. I'm so glad I didn't buy it at full price. Also, it is slow to respond to key strokes and, given the third-person aspect, is not a pleasure to play.

Overall Review: I would not recommend this game to those of us who prefer first person play

Frustration; no support12/14/2013 12:58:15 PM

Pros: Inexpensive and a (formerly) trusted name

Cons: I can't really review the board only the lack of effective (absent) tech support from ECS. I've been trying off and on for almost a year to get this board to render graphics running Ubuntu. The process started out well with them asking me what CPU I was using and they would try to emulate the problem. I never got a direct answer on this except to view the case log which I had been unable to do as the login would always fail. I've tried several of the Ubuntu builds but when It tries to render accelerated graphics I can't even see the desktop. I've tried to get help from ECS tech support but the only way to do it is to fill out a form. I can't see any way to respond or reply to a suggestion from them using the login with the case Id# and email address. In an attempt to respond to the initial request I couldn't log in and was forced to fill out a second request form which I was admonished for by them. They do not use email correspondence except to notify you that a reply has been posted and to login to view it. The last thing I was able to see was a link to the BIOS update file but no freaking flash utility. I have no way to tell them this problem but they should have known it based on my complaint. I guess I'll just have to start an RMA process since they don't seem to want to help. Very disappointing, ECS.

Disappointment12/9/2013 5:04:23 AM

Pros: Atractive case with several fans at a good price on sale

Cons: The front bezel is very light plastic and very flimzy. When I pulled out the bottom to dislodge the bezel I realized it cracked the front of it and two of the friction posts broke off. Now it's possible that some of this damage was there when I got it but I did not look close enough because the front was cover with plastic sheet. Regardless of that, the construction of the front bezel is subpar to say the least and if I had known that this design was so flimsy I would not have purchased it.

Overall Review: I bought this case almost a year ago and it's been in storage waiting for a use. I found that use this weekend when I had to pull my office PC out of a tight spot and rebuild it. I'm extremely frustrated that after all the work I did I had to put it back with a damaged case.

not 100%12/9/2013 4:34:40 AM

Pros: Fairly easy assembly, good price on sale with a rebate, supports two 23" monitors well

Cons: soft foam rubber isolators inside arm assembly are a waste of time especially wehn you don't know they are in there and you don't have the arm clamp opened far enough. There is no vertical arm adjustment for fine tuning hight so monitors line up at the bottom, and what the heck do you do with the little rubber "limiters" because there is no clear instruction on where or how to use them.

Overall Review: I'm glad I purchased this assembly but the directions need to be more clear. If I had paid full price I would not be a happy camper right now.

price matching?11/19/2013 4:24:07 AM

Pros: IMHO, the name Yamaha says it all

Cons: None yet because I just ordered it. Other than that, $21.99 for the pedal + $6.98 for shipping = way over-priced.

Overall Review: I normally have a lot of respect for NewEgg's pricing but on this item I was able to find it elsewhere for $19.18 with free shipping. For those who wish to still purchase it from NewEgg perhaps they will price match.

Frustrating issues4/3/2013 1:24:12 PM

Pros: Feature/price ratio, warranty terms

Cons: Will not boot consistently. It will often sit with HDD working and fans spinning, but no video output. I get no BIOS beeps indicating issues with memory or video card and I've tried 2 different brand new power supplies. When it sits and doesn't output video, the power LED will flash quickly 3 times with a 5 second pause and then flash again and again until I kill the power.

Overall Review: But the most frustrating part is tech support. They seem more than willing to fall all over themselves in response to complaints here but if you go through the pain-staking process of filling out a support request they just simply ignore you. And have I mentioned the snail speed of their download servers?

Power supply3/2/2013 7:46:46 AM

Pros: On sale and a fairly attractive deal despite the complaints of short power supply cables

Cons: Power supply DOA as far as I know or it died shortly after I removed it to use elsewhere.

Overall Review: Together with the attractive deal of a decent case with a 450 w power supply, I actually bought this with the complaints of short leads as the selling point. I had a super micro ATX case that really needed a power supply with short leads.

2/21/2013 6:01:03 AM

Pros: Everything you could possibly want and need to replace the obsolete floppy.

Cons: I bought two of these when on sale back in Novemeber of last year and stuck them on my shelf for future use. I installed one in a system I was building a week ago and confirmed by trying on a test motherboard that it is DOA. I can now see I've become the member of a rather large club of dissatisfied purchasers.

Overall Review: As many others have said, Rosewill sells a lot of decent cheap components and I've bought many of them. But when you let "cheap" dictate your purchase, we all get what we pay for..and very much deserve it.

I wish I could say1/23/2013 4:29:48 AM

Pros: It is a very popular brand with a good industry warranty period and it was very well priced in a combo deal like the one going on today in the Shell Shocker.

Cons: I bought this board in October of 2012 and I have worked for hours trying to get this thing just to post, trying diferent memory and power supplies, and still no luck. After reading the reviews I'm disappointed that Gigabyte has not been concerned enough to post any replies to pepoles' complaints; that tells a lot about a manufaturer and someting I USUALLY pay close attention to before I buy something. Thisa is one of those times I didn't follow my own rule and it bit me you-know-where.

Overall Review: None

Yes, but...1/23/2013 4:18:49 AM

Pros: There's no disputing these facts: it's stylish, compact, and extremely well made. It's power supply seems to be quieter than most and it's easy enough to work inside as long as you realize you're working with and ITX system.

Cons: The main reason it's SO compact is that it has no external drive bays so if you need to have CD/DVD capability it will have to be external. This is a big negative for me and if I had been paying attention to detail I would not have purchased this case, But, alas, I snookered by the combo deal and the great price.

Overall Review: As nicely as this case is made and as compact as it is, we all need to start paying more attention to the details of what we are actually buying.

Reviewing details only1/13/2013 4:40:05 AM

Pros: It's an intriguing product with a lot of useful potential

Cons: Details say the support stops at Win Vista and the product cannot be found on their support website.

Overall Review: I don't own the product but I have to be honestly concerned about purchasing it because of the cons I listed above. And it wouldn't do any good to contact NewEgg about it because they just regurgitate the manufacturer's details and product descriptions and say they don't know any more about it than what the manufacturer says. So, I'll have to pass.

Do your research7/18/2012 4:15:50 AM

Pros: Considering the price of harddrives these days this was a deal too good to be true or pass up. This is exactly what I needed to expand backup space for my WHS 2011. Despite all the negative reviews here, I was more than impressed with WDC's tech responses and suggestions. A manufaturer's response to negative reviews is something that weighs heavily in my decision to purchase items here.

Cons: None so far; one egg held back for not knowing what the future will bring

Overall Review: I was skeptical especially after reading user reviews but I took full advantage of the WDC tech responses and their suggestions. I learned that it needed to be connected to an SATA3 to function properly and if I had not read the reviews I probably would not have been aware of this issue. Despite that, the board I'm using only has SATA3 ports anyway. Also, instead of finding problems after the fact, I ran WDC's Life Guard tools to make sure the drive was healthy before I put it in service. It's been running now for about 10 days with no apparent problems...knock on wood. :)

What a joke6/27/2012 11:23:44 AM

Pros: Price range voltamp ratio

Cons: The software utility is a joke. A small graphic that basically tells me nothing. Unbelievable

Overall Review: I bought this based on price and user reviews. I can't imagine what others saw that I missed. Besides that, I got no satisfaction much less an acknowledgment from my complaint to their customer service.

Junk!5/31/2012 1:15:20 AM

Pros: None really except cheap with free shipping...but then they know we strike at shinny objects

Cons: I aknowlege and concure with all the bad stuff everyone else has listed plus one thing no one else has mentioned: the 2.5" external drive bay has no drive supports! How stupid is that? I always put a multi-card reader with USB ports in these bays but there is nothing to hold the reader, only thin air! That is inexcusable, I don't care HOW cheap it was that's just junk.

Overall Review: Nuff said

Disappointed5/2/2012 5:40:09 PM

Pros: Sounded intriguing, and at a reasonable price. It seemed worth the price to take a chance.

Cons: Sold by a third party vendor...which means NewEgg doesn't have to get their hands dirty if there's problems. Guess what? There's problems: the bubble-wrapped item arrived in an envelope from who-knows-where and it must've gone through a rock grinder considering the shape everything was in. It's like you buy a dozen eggs but don't open the carton until you get home and look inside to find them pre-scrambled for you.

Overall Review: I hate that reputable vendors like NewEgg are listing third-party sales on their websites now because they are taking advanatge of the good rep they have attained and throwing us to the wolves. Keep in mind I'm not rating the item but rating what I got in the mail and what I have to deal with now. Disappointing NewEgg:(
