Hitachi GST Deskstar 7K1000.D HDS721050DLE630 (0F13178) 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: This has the best specifications for this price range I could find on the site. Has been working great for five days now, and those five days have been filled with constant partitioning and formatting.

Cons: None so far.

Overall Review: I agree with the other reviewer, hard drive prices are higher than they need to be. Keep in mind that this hardrive is well priced relative to the other hard drive prices right now. So, at a different point in time this hard drive should cost less.

Nice TV

Vizio 32" 3-D Ready 1080p 60Hz LCD HDTV
Vizio 32" 3-D Ready 1080p 60Hz LCD HDTV

Pros: It came in very good condition. If I didn't know it was refurbished, I would have thought it was new. The image quality is surprisingly nice for the price I got it at. You hear stories about how 3DTV's make really good 2DTV's because they have to be manufactured to higher standards, and I think that is what is at work here. There is no apparent drop in image quality when the TV enters 3D mode, and has a wide viewing angle. This TV uses theater style 3D, meaning glasses are dirt cheap and there is no flickering effect (unlike shutter style 3D TV's). Be warned though, if the TV is in 3D mode and you aren't wearing the glasses, it looks like visual gibberish. Which is why it is good that you can turn on and off the 3D at any time (even if the video it is receiving is in 3D). Personally, if 3D is available for what I'm watching, I'll put it in that mode. The TV is a good size for a bedroom and does not weigh too much. This makes it good for wall-mounting.

Cons: The biggest oversight on this TV is that there is no DVI port. It has a couple HDMI 1.4a ports, which are capable of 720P-3D at 60 FPS and 1080P-3D at 24 FPS. However, HDMI 1.4a can not handle 1080P-3D at 60FPS; whilst DVI can. So this means if you want 1080P, 60 FPS, and 3D all at the same time, you cannot have them. You can only choose 2. I did not deduct a star from the score, though, because 720P-3D at 60 FPS is still really, really nice looking for videogames; and most movies are shot at 24 FPS anyway. So you should use 720P-3D for games, and 1080P-3D for movies. Also, using the menu could be a little more intuitive.

Overall Review: Don't get tricked into buying uber-expensive HDMI cables to use with the TV. There are plenty of ones for under 10$ in the world. Also, there's not as many games that support 3D as I would like there to be. I'm pretty sure, though, as time goes on it will become more and more of a standard feature like selecting the resolution to play at.

Does the job

Linkworld Electronic LLC FAN-8-2 80mm Case cooler
Linkworld Electronic LLC FAN-8-2 80mm Case cooler

Pros: This is a good, basic computer fan. It is capable of moving a nice amount of air, and it's not any louder than your average one.

Cons: None so far.
