Silverstone SST-PP05-E Flat Flexible Short Cable Set for SilverStone Modular PSUs
Silverstone SST-PP05-E Flat Flexible Short Cable Set for SilverStone Modular PSUs

Pros: Flatter cables for the modular PSUs make routing them easier as they are significantly less stiff than the included cables. So, "Flat" and "Flexible", check - good for tight bends in ITX cases.

Cons: These are also listed as "Short" cables. Granted, this cable set is intended to be used with all modular power supplies, so on the ATX models, I am sure they are shorter, but for the SFX power supplies, the cables are the same length. If you're looking for something shorter to minimize cable clutter in ITX cases with SFX power supplies, these will not help..

Perfect Power Supply with Major Issue

SilverStone ST45SF-G 450 W SFX12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply
SilverStone ST45SF-G 450 W SFX12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Surprisingly small, powerful, and sturdy. Well packaged and includes a wealth of modular cables.

Cons: Has a terrible 80mm fan, especially for this price point. I have the V2 model and the fan has a constant grinding noise that completely dominates the sound profile of the system. This one fan is louder than my desktop PC when gaming, and that has 4 fans in it. Extremely disappointing given the quality of the rest of the product and the price. Additionally, the included modular cables are not very flexible, so spending the additional $30 for the flexible cable kit is almost a must.

Overall Review: If you don't mind a very loud PC, especially a very loud small PC, this power supply will be great. For anyone looking for something relatively quiet, I can't in good conscience recommend this product.

Overall Review: Purchased this for a quiet build in a Corsair 280x. The box that the power supply comes in seems unnecessarily huge, but the unit itself is compact and solidly built. Internal packaging is top notch - velvet bags and lots of cable management components included. Fit was as expected, and modular cables were easy to connect. I had plenty of cables for my build, but there weren't a ton of extra ones - that said, it's a 550W supply so not really suited for heavy peripheral / GPU builds. Keeping fan noise to a minimum was one of my top priorities and this unit delivers there. The fan doesn't run until it is needed - in load tests it barely spun up. Granted the 280x is a split case so the power supply always has fresh air, but this unit seems to keep cool even under solid gaming load. No issues with power delivery but my build is pretty light: Asus ITX mobo, mildly OC'd i5 4690 CPU, and a GTX 1070. TL;DR: this is an all around excellent power supply, especially if you need something quiet.

Pros: Solid RAM, heat spreaders are low profile, overclocks well enough for my purposes. Paired with an Asus Maximus VII Impact ITX board in a very small NCASE. Also, did I mention, it's RED!

Cons: None as of yet - don't expect any issues.
