Pros: Inexpensive, fast

Cons: Cannot be used with a heatsink, Poor customer support

Overall Review: I purchased 2 of these units for use in a QNAP NAS which recommends the use of a heat sink attached to the M.2 SSD boards. Since the heatsink is designed to use a 2 sided thermal blanket that has adhesive on both side I was concerned that the label would create heat transfer issues. I contacted WD tech support and was referred 3 times (escalated each time) because no one could give me an answer. Finally well over a week later I received this statement in my email and I quote: "You can use the heatsink anywhere nearby the SSD but not on the SSD as it may temper the label on the drive which will void the warranty of the drive." As a point of information the label itself is designed that any attempts to remove it would destroy it. So if your thinking of simply pealing it off and putting it back on if you had a warranty issue you can forget it. Also, they did not offer to assist me with possibly swapping out my new Blue's for the new offering, it was more like sorry, you stuck with it. For the life of me I cannot figure out why you could not just scan the label for warranty purposes and peal it off to attach the heatsink. The only reason I could come up with is this is a rebranded part an WD would not be able to determine it was actually their part. WD provided a link to another product coming out soon that would allow the use of a heatsink. Unfortunately when I attempted to use the link they sent me i got "Page not Found" Oh well, looks like WD is not what they use to be. I will end up using the WD units purchased in another application and I wont buy from them again.

Good all around part time basic comptuer drive, but dont use for enterprise, servers or DVR's, it wont last10/28/2018 2:17:04 PM

Pros: General inexpensive drive with reasonable performance Runs relatively cool and quiet

Cons: though these drives are inexpensive don't count on them for 24x7 operation, Seagate rates them for 2400 powered on hours and stopped providing MTBF values. Useless for NAS, Server, DVR or Enterprise operation.

Overall Review: I would only recommend this drive for use in environments where backups are religiously maintained. I have had a number of these drives and never had one last more then about 1 year and that's about the point where the warranty expires.

Good substitution for Apple charger6/28/2015 9:44:34 AM

Pros: Cool running, charges quickly, charges multiple devices, reasonably priced

Cons: Has issues charging certain Android devices such as ASUS tablets

Overall Review: If you have multiple apple device this product should suit you well. Android users should attempt to contact the manufacture and verify it is compatible with the device they intend to use it with. Might save you from having to return it.

Works with all versions of Windows3/26/2015 3:32:59 PM

Pros: Works with all versions of Windows (XP thru Windows 10)

Cons: Instructions leave much to be desired, the support software comes with the board on CD but supports multiple products. Easy to load the wrong driver, looses an egg for this.

Overall Review: Like many of the boards today this board comes from China. It appears to be nicely made flow soldered and good hardware. Also includes a shorty bracket for low profile cases. I would purchase again.

Will not provide full resolution under XP1/12/2014 4:03:38 PM

Pros: Excellent price point when purchased under $275.00 LED backlight 3 Year parts and labor warranty DVI, Display port and VGA interface Decent stand

Cons: No Support for Windows XP Cheaper E-IPS, inferior to H-IPS in display and quality No HDMI Connector or support

Overall Review: I deducted 1 egg or no Windows XP support, this mean that you WILL NOT be able to run this monitor under XP using 1920 by 1200 resolution graphics in the monitors native display, this will result in poor display quality. I also deducted 1 egg for the combination of no HDMI support and the use of the less expensive E-IPS panel. H-IPS is far superior in display quality. The similar priced HP ZR2440w has none of these shortcomings and supports XP.

Good Product, Poor Customer Service7/25/2013 8:17:58 AM

Pros: One of the cutting edge 7 inch tablets offering all of the services available through the Jelly Bean Android OS If it wasn't for all the cons this product would get 5 stars.

Cons: Zero ASUS Customer Service!!!!! Screen Flickering issues Charging Issues Short and cheaply made charge Cable

Overall Review: I have always been a flag waver for ASUS and their advanced products but no more. The technology gains are just not worth the problems. A few months after owning this tablet I began to have charge issues. (not to mention the software bug crashes and screen flickering). I isolated the problem to a defective charge cable. This unit uses a micro usb to usb charge cable that is cheaply made and too short (1 meter). The plug that is inserted into the tablet develops play and thus the unit no longer charges. I contacted ASUS support just to be told to send in the charger and the cable, once received and inspected a replacement would be sent. This could take up to one month. I explained that I could just send in the bad cable (because I already bought a spare) for a replacement. ASUS said no, they must have both. I explained this would render my tablet useless while I wait for the replacement parts. ASUS could care less. Buying and expensive electronic gadget is not just geting the latest and greatest product but being able to depend on it and the support of the company that makes it. Unfortunately ASUS has lost touch with its customers. I have noticed the same issues with their motherboards, PC and just about everything else they sell. Needless to say no more ASUS. ASUS used to build advanced and great products but their support has gone the way of the dodo. Poor software patches and updates, poor or non-existant customer service and company policies that do not build customer loyality forces me to look elseware. I will be selling off the Nexus 7 and replacing it with a Samsung or perhaps iPad.

Quality control slipping, Tech support non-existant3/27/2013 6:10:10 AM

Pros: Small clean power supply with a good rating.

Cons: DOA. No SeaSonic package or instructions, basically a powersupply shoved in a newegg box No tech support, you go right to a recorder and they don't call back. Sad, they used to be much better

Overall Review: Like many other companies today I believe SeaSonic is slipping. I have used their products in the past and have had good luck (otherwise they would have gotten 1 egg). What is sad about this unit is that it was DOA right out of the newegg box on top of that no manufacture documentation, just a powersupply wrapped in bubble wrap. There really is no excuse for something that does not work right out of the box (the exception would be shipping damage which this was not). Since this unit would not power up at all obviously someone didn't do their job. Oh well, back to Corsiar, a little more pricy but so far I never had a bad one.

Good Workhorse for a Cheap Price1/4/2013 10:08:07 AM

Pros: Intel E8400 Core 2 Duo processor @3ghz with 6M Cache and supports VT as well. Small form factor. 2 PCi x16 slots, 1 PCI, 1 Express, 4 SIMM memory slots, Windows 7 64bit Professional. Integrated Video and Audio, Dual PS2, Dual RS232 Serial and Parallel port, Front and rear USB connections, 1GB Lan connection and DVD Player. It's all there and super quiet too! Simply add a VGA monitor and your on your way!

Cons: Not really but if I had to mention something, it has only 2 GB's of ram and 160gb small disk drive. I would have deducted 1 egg for this but when you consider the price you really can't especially when you consider its completely refurbished.

Overall Review: For the price you can't beat it. The E8400 CPU runs Windows 7 very well though the PC would benefit from additional memory. (Super cheap to do though). This platform is perfect for a student or someone with limited desk space. Not a gaming machine but a workhorse for someone needing a good quality PC with some limited expandability.

Excellent Monitor that is showing its age12/30/2012 4:47:00 PM

Pros: High connectivity, Dual HDMI, Dual DVI, VGA, DP and composite connectors. Has Active and passive USB extension from PC and xD/SD/MS and MMC right on the side of the monitor. Fine dot pitch, IPS panel. Factory calibrated and supports Adobe RGB and 10bit color. Fully electronic touch controls and 2650x1600 resolution.

Cons: Expensive! CCFL and not LED backlight. If switching between inputs sometimes the U3011 will not see signal and requires poweroff/on sequence to wake it back up. No rotate to verticle support. The monitor requires a warm up period before maximum color accuracy is achieved (about 5 minutes). This is because it is a CCFL and not LED backlight. This product would have earned 5 stars but looses 1 because of these issues.

Overall Review: The Dell U3011 has been out for over a year now, other companies are releasing LED backlight monitors but most of them are not 10 bit color. Many say that 10 bit color is not needed and most people don't have the hardware to support it anyway. Bottom line, if you need a high resolution, high color accuracy monitor for professional photo editing get this monitor, otherwise consider some of the newer led backlight monitors (like the dell U2713HM with slightly lower 2650x1440 resolution) Either way you won't be dissappointed.

Great Product, Crumby tech support12/25/2012 6:35:41 PM

Pros: Supports high resolution monitors, very flexible and will work with old PS2 inputs as well as wireless devices

Cons: Does not support Windows keyboard or mouse wake up pass through. Special keyboard functions will not be passed to computer.

Overall Review: This is a good solution for those looking for high resolution support (2560x1600)w/dual monitors. Even though IOgear says wireless mice or not supported they are full of cr@p. This product works just fine with Microsoft wireless intellmouse units. Also the ps2 to usb adapters work just fine with a ps2 keyboard as well. I called their tech support to check to see if my configuration would work they said no. Wrong, dual monitors on DVI, Microsoft wireless mouse and Northgate PS2 keyboard works just fine. I took a chance because of the Newegg return policy and I am glad that I did. This product would have been given 5 stars if the IOGear tech support wasn't so lame and if the keyboard/mouse windows support worked!

Total Junk, Hardware dependent.11/12/2012 5:54:35 AM

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Very poor voice quality, calls drop, only works with specific routers. Very poor customer service/tech support. Plan on waiting on hold for hours. Requires 10 digit dialing for all calls. Non-standard E911 services. Does not recognize all area codes. Must be used with high speed internet. (10mbs or higher)

Overall Review: I am really surprised Newegg decided to sell this product. I bought this product looking to use it for long distance calls (saving high costs by my local telco) but was dismayed by the lousy service. Many calls don't go thru, the voice quality is very bad, echo, cutouts, its like the worst cell phone that you could buy and for the most part un-usable. There tech support people are nice but plan on a long wait to talk with them. Once you get them on the line they will blame everything else but the nettalk. MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE APPROVED ROUTER LIST BEFORE YOU BUY. This product DOES NOT work with all routers. By the way, the other nationally advertiesed product (MJ) works much better but I wouldn't recommended it for your only tel. service, only a backup.

Windows 8 - Not Necessary11/8/2012 6:11:16 AM

Pros: Shines as a multimedia PC if you have a Tablet laptop or desktop. Apple lovers will like it!

Cons: Microsoft went backwards, No start menu for legacy PC users, Metro interface is a bulky bloated glitzy useless interface for non touch screen PC.s Won't run on many older PC's. Steep learning curve. I can usually find something good in just about everything, this OS is just so poor it only rates 1 egg, sorry Microsoft, you blew it.

Overall Review: It's obvious that Microsoft is trying to grab the Apple croud with this new operating system. For the proficent XP or Windows 7 this new OS is a desaster. The start menu is gone, getting to the older menu interace of Win 7 is a pain. Most of the Control for the OS is now gone making custom configuration very difficult. It seems like every other OS from Microsoft is a bomb. Perhaps Windows 8 will be good. Save yourself the agravation and keep your money in your pocket on this one. One last thing, my wife has an ASUS Tablet PC, I loaded Windows 8 on it thinking she would like it (she uses her PC for Multimedia) Wrong, she had me put Windows 7 back on it within 2 weeks. Apparently she didn't like it either.

Solid Performer, Good Value on sale9/11/2012 9:42:16 AM

Pros: Fast Performance, Runs cool, Includes drive adapter, Excellent price of $59.99 after rebate (if I get it, will update if I don't). Windows 7 score the drive at 6.9 and this is an older laptop without AHCI.

Cons: Formats out way under advertised size, 111.75GB vs Crucial M4 which formats to 119.25. Limited instructions, though you can go to OCZ's web site and check out their forum on tips.

Overall Review: This SSD would have earned 5 stars if it formated at or close to its advertised capacity of 120gb, my crucial M4 formats to 119.25gb. This really is an excellent drive for older laptops that don't support AHCI, under Windows 7 I have had no BOD's, just a major increase in drive performance and battery life. One thing to note, I have noticed this drive is no longer stocked at Newegg making me think it may have been replaced with a newer version.

Good Quality, Not exactly full9/10/2012 12:28:29 PM

Pros: Exact fit replacement. These apprear to be rebuilt original OKI cartridges. Reasonable cost.

Cons: 2 of the 4 cartridges do not show 100% full, bummer. Depending on how long they last will decide if I buy them again.

Overall Review: Thought it might just be my printer, so I weighed the cartridges, turns out the yellow and magenta cartridges are not as full as the others as indicated in the cartridge status in the printer menu. One shows 57%, the other show 75%. As a result they got docked 2 eggs.

Shame on you TRENDnet8/12/2012 3:56:25 PM

Pros: Thanks to Newegg for taking back this junk(believe me I would have used a different word if newegg would let me)!

Cons: Doesn't work at all, DOA Actually doesn't deserve any eggs!

Overall Review: Shame on you Trendnet, I had purchased a product from you before that was DOA, well, I though I would try again by purchasing one of your "Refurbished" Gigibit switches, it too was DOA. I determined the AC adapter is putting out no voltage. Since I was not able just to get a replacement AC transformer I said the h@ll with it and just called Newegg for an RMA. Trendnet, it is bad enough to send out defective products but after someone else send it back and you "Recertifiy" and it's still bad, come on!!! You have now been officially added to my "Never buy from" Vendor list! FAIL!

Reasonable product, Poor long term support7/29/2012 10:02:56 AM

Pros: Easy to install, new design makes it easier to mount on the motherboard. Keep in mind that you CANNOT seperate the pump from the radiator, this could be considered a plus, less leak possibility. Cools as it should. Comes in a nice box.

Cons: The pump unit sits right on top of board capacitors on Asus MB's. Instructions leave much to be desired, yes they have good pictures but little or no text on the details, ie recommended fan/pump speeds. The pump vibrates a little at full tilt, running it at 90% seems to make it run much smoother. The radiator had many bent fins, spent about 1/2 hour straighting them up for ultimate air flow. The H60 does not appear to be made as nicely as the H50 was and I was dissapointed here. No user serviceable parts other than the fan.

Overall Review: I would have rated this product higher but because of Corsair's Poor long term support they got docked one and a second egg for the bent up radiator, slight vibration and poor instructions. I bought this H60 to replace my H50 that died a few days out of warranty. The pump would a couple of taps to get it going again and even though the problem actually started within the warranty period Corsair sorry, buy a new one, no other options were given. Considering all of the products I have purchased from Corsair I would have expected better. I guess it is the sign of the times, even the best of companies appear to be slipping. I sure hope this one lasts longer than the H50.

Reasonable Card for a Cheap Price7/25/2012 6:35:38 AM

Pros: Excellent inexpensive card perfect for windows media center pc, server or anything that does not require high performance graphics. Fanless, very small profile and has brackets for low profile cases. Tunable software allow limited tweaking. Drivers are stable and work well.

Cons: Large heat sync on GPU requires the card to occupy 2 slots. Runs a little warm and requires 300+ watt ps. Looses 1 egg because of the heat sync.

Overall Review: Bought this card for a media server PC that really didn't require a high performance card. Just needed a cheap PCI express video card. Well worth the $9.95 after rebate price. Will update this review if I don't receive the rebate!

Powerful and dependable7/24/2012 2:04:07 PM

Pros: This is a massive and well built fan. Powerful, well balanced and dependable. I have had 2 of these running 24x7 for over a year shutting down just long enough to blow out the dust. This fan moves a great deal of air and works best when used with a fan controller.

Cons: Can be loud is used without controller but if you concerned with moving air and keeping things cool not an issue. Slightly wider than a standard 120mm fan so they won't work in tight spaces where width is an issue.

Overall Review: Fans are very important to keeping PC's cool, if you are concerned with dependable cooling and not fancy led's and looks this is exactly what you need.

A Powerful and flexible display7/24/2012 1:56:07 PM

Pros: Nice looking display featuring a polished black anodized aluminum front plate and a cobalt blue fluoresent display that looks great in any PC or MPC. Very flexible as to what can be displayed. Just about anything can be displayed, ie, fan speeds, temp, memory used, or custom text that the user can define. Also can be used to display audio levels and much more

Cons: The instructions absolutely suck. Does not come with software/drivers which must be downloaded from web site which was not well organized. Also does not have mounting screws but you can use standard 5 1/4 drive screws. Hard to see clearly at an angle but looks great straight on. Looses 1 egg for this.

Overall Review: This is really a nice product once you get it up and running. A little bit of tweaking by the manufacture (adjustable swivel frontplate) could easily resolve the view angle issue.

Cheap Alternative to a new Drive6/26/2012 11:24:33 AM

Pros: Provide additional life to older IDE devices. Small footprint, works in small area's.

Cons: Instructions are lacking, you might have problems if not configured correctly. Some performance degradation. If you are using this device to re-use an old CD/DVD keep in mind a newer operating system (Win 7 or 8) may not recognize the device properly, not so much a fault of the RC-204 but more an issue of an old CD/DVD. Price point very close to that of a new DVD device.

Overall Review: What you MUST do to get this to work is to set your IDE device (CD or HDD) to master or slave. Using CSS will not work properly. Don't forget the device requires power (use the dongle provided)

Good Service Work Keyboard4/17/2012 6:49:50 AM

Pros: Very Small footprint, integrated touch pad, windows key. Worked right out of the box in XP without having to load any drivers.

Cons: Not the greatest key layout and not good for a speed typer because of the layout and small keys. A bit spongy but not horrible.

Overall Review: This is a really good keyboard to have laying around for service work, (especially if you have a tablet with USB). The fact that you can plug it in and it is recognized by most BIOS's is a real plus. It really deserves 3 1/2 eggs for the daily user. This keyboard uses a USB and not a PS2 port.

Fast on speed, low on support9/16/2011 7:11:09 PM

Pros: Lightning Fast, Low power and runs cool, New firmware vs 0009 available from crucial and easy to install.

Cons: Little or no documentation, Very few tools available from Crucial. No adapter allowing installation into a normal sata slot. Could not get Windows 7 and XP to play nicely on the same disk, Windows 7 64bit would randomly boot to blue screens. Though this appears to be a good unit it looses 2 eqqs for the lack of support and no easy way to mount the drive.

Overall Review: I was very surprised considering Crucial's great reputation on the lack of information provided with this drive. About the only info you can find is on their web site and most of that must be gotten from the forum. I bought this because of the cheap price, I am sorry I didn't go with the Intel unit. They have many tools available for their units that allows maintenance for OS's that don't have TRIM/Garbage deletion incorporated.

EP-121 Final Thoughts (long time owner)8/23/2011 7:04:07 AM

Pros: Unbelievable Performance, runs just about anything quickly. Tried different OS's, ended up with Win 7 Ultimate, needed the virtual XP mode for some old software. Battery life is acceptable. Complete the touch screen recognition utility and you will have 100% character recognition! I routinely use this unit every day in a business environment, Office, Visio, Business/Management software run easily and quickly. WIFI and Bluetooth work without any problems. I can easily say this is one of the best investments I have ever bought and I would be lost in my job without it.

Cons: Screen resolution could be a little higher allowing more content on the screen. Cost, expensive but when you consider what a fully blown IPAD 2 costs (that won't even begin to do what this Tablet will do) it is comparable in price. The digitizer pen could be better. (wacom AXT-MB100-0S01 is a perfect replacement) Finally, the USB ports plastic covers are difficult to open. The 60GB drive will fill up quickly so space management is necessary.

Overall Review: The Keyboard gets a bad rap on this unit. The problem is that the tablet drops the bluetooth key for the keyboard after it is not used for a long period. This is an easy fix by simply deleting the bluetooth keyboard and re-installing and adding a new key. I originally had an IPAD and sold it after buying the EP-121. The IPAD is a low end toy in comparison, the EP-121 will handle just about anything you throw at it. If you are an advanced PC user and need professional power this unit is for you. Buy an IPad if you want to play games or look at or take pictures.

Poor Product, Poor Support7/13/2011 9:09:02 AM

Pros: Easy to configure, Nice user interface, Lots of end user options. Front panel displays connection speeds and activity.

Cons: IP Reservation via MAC does not work correctly and won't allow WAN pass through. Netgear has no solution for this. Connection are made in the front instead of the rear like the older FVS318 versions. Gets confused and Locks up from time to time requiring reboot. Certain changes cannot be completed without require a complete re-init and re-configuration. Though this product was created for the business enviroment it is to flaky even for home use.

Overall Review: I have had many netgear products both professional and home. This unit is perhaps the worst I have seen. Netgear tech support is at a loss with this unit and cannot provide any real solutions. VPN does work, bottom line: If you need to use the IP/MAC reservation DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT, you will have nothing but headaches. You have been warned! I would have given this product 0 eggs if I could have.

Excellent small footprint Platform5/11/2011 9:29:14 PM

Pros: Small form factor, Full featured, bullet proof and easy to configure, BIOS failsafe if you screw up the settings while trying to overclock and performs well. High resolution integrated graphics. Board supports a wide selection of processors and memory. Has a legacy serial and parallel port. Good audio, includes sata cables and software CD. Includes a PCI slot. 4 USB ports.

Cons: Has only a single PS2 port for either a keyboard or mouse. the other has to use USB. Included backplate is not labeled not a big deal you can make one. No HDMI connector for home entertainment platform but you could add one via the PCI slot.

Overall Review: The BIOS must be upgraded to support the latest LGA775 processors. This could be a problem if the processor you are using is not supported by an older version that might be on the board when you receive it. This is a common issue that plagues just about all MB providers. Printed instructions are basic, additional info is on the included CD.
