Happy and Good Value

Pros: We have tried a few multifunction device in the last 2 years and brother seems to be the best. We currently have 4 of these color models and another 5 of the black and white version. Are they perfect, no, but so far they are the best out of the competition in this price range. Over the years using primarily HP multifunction devices we had nothing but nightmares and even put a stop on all purchases of multifunction devices for some time. About two years ago we decided to start testing again and while Dell took an early lead we found them to be unreliable over the course of a year. We started experimenting with brother products and we don't get any calls from our users, which is a good thing. Printers (especially multifunction) are tough and you only really know until after you buy them. I can say that we have the history to prove that these products are currently on top.
Cons: Software install has glitched before when adding things like PC fax and some of the email connectors with outlook. Sadly, the install process is still less bug prone than the competition. HP states brothers power consumption is much higher than theirs. www.hp.com/sbso/expert/hp-power-consumption-vs-brother.pdf
Overall Review: For the price there is currently nothing that can beat the value.
Lasted about 32 days.

Pros: Seemed not bad for 32 days.
Cons: Seemed pretty good to start but right around 32 days it started showing problems. Bios is now reporting it's not passing SMART. It then disappears completely. Running some SMART self tests but this thing is going back as it's no longer recognized. I go here http://www.hgst.com/portal/site/en/support/warranty/ and rry and download the drive fitness test - http://www.hgst.com/support/downloads/#DFT and I get just a blank page. Ok so I decide to contact technical support to let them know. http://www.hgst.com/support/contact-support/ Guess what, blank page (on 3 browsers 2 computers). It's been like this for about an hour (6-29-12 9:36am Pacific). So I have no way to get my drive returned and I am passed the 30 days to return to newegg. One saving grace is you can go through the RMA without needed any sort of code from the drive fitness software. So I will do just that.
Overall Review: I would have gave them 2 or heck maybe 3 stars because drives do break but there website not having the tools they require you to run is just bad. I finally got the site to do more than just show a blank page: Database Error: Unable to connect to the database:Could not connect to MySQL
Missing Parts

Pros: probably decent enough if you have all the parts
Cons: This refurbished unit only came with the USB extender and not the Unifying receiver. So it's basically a paper weight.
