AMD Rules!!
Pros: Popped right into my Foxconn C51 590 SLI and works like a beast. With my 8800GTS I run any game or any program without a single hiccup! Run HL2 at max settings, 16x AA, 16x Filtering and still pull 140+FPS. So fast that my brand new LCD cant even keep up with the frames and I get frame tearing!! (LCD's are 60hz at max res). L2 2x1MB is great!
Cons: None.
Overall Review: Dont OC this CPU, it is fast enough for now and since its 2.8Ghz is runs memory at full speed 800Mhz, without messing with the multiplier. Near future AMD CPU's (AM2+, mabey even AM3) should be compatible with nForce 590 mobos after a quick BIOS update! 5600 is 89W compared to the SLIGHTLY faster 6000 which is smoking 125W! This is the AMD CPU to get as of now!
Excellent Micro SDHC
Pros: Good price for a 16GB Class 4 ($25). Reputable, quality brand. Worked seamlessly in my Motorola Atrix 2. Card seems very quick and responsive, but I haven't tested speeds.
Cons: I've been buying from NewEgg for years. It took this item 9 days to arrive, yet its small enough to be delivered in an envelope.
Overall Review: When NewEgg was with UPS, I guess the shipping was much quicker.
Panasonic Pro-Curve
Pros: It's made by Panasonic. It has a solid feel to it and a great look. The digital display is great for determining battery life. I've used this razor for a little over 8 months. It has a decent motor to power it and the charge lasts a long time. Wet or dry is crucial. It cuts short facial hair very smoothly and closely. I purchased this one elsewhere because the price was better at the time, but if you need an electric shaver, this one cannot be beat at this price!
Cons: You can't let your facial hair get too long with this shaver. If you shave daily or every other day, this model will give you a very close, smooth shave. However, if you have thick facial hair and shave less frequently, you're going to have a hard time getting a good shave. The trimmer on the back is extremely weak and its teeth are not as sharp as they should be. Forget using it for anything other than trimming your sideburns.
Overall Review: Overall a good electric shaver. At $30, you will not find anything close as good. This normally retails at about $50-60.
Excellent true X-Fi sound card!
Pros: I'm a loyal newegg customer but I've purchased this card a long while ago and just now decided to write a small review. This is the cheapest member of the true X-Fi family and also the best bang for the buck. The first time I heard this card I was blown away! Compared to on-board sound, its night and day. You will notice deep lows and rich mids, along with very clear highs. This card has everything you need and probably the best sound you can get under $100. This thing even made bad speakers sound good. Once you hook up good speakers or earphones to this sound card, you will realize why its important to have quality sound hardware. This has true EAX support, not emulated. This thing actually takes the audio load from your CPU to increase performance by a few %.
Cons: Sometimes the software can seem to be a bit heavy, but I think Creative is improving this quickly. Never use the disk hardware comes with and always download the latest drivers from the manufacturer website.
Overall Review: Great sound, great quality, and extreme potential with good speakers or good headphones. Probably the best bang for the buck $100 or under.
One of the best for the price!
Pros: I'm a loyal newegg customer but I purchased this keyboard on another website for $10 less during a brief sale. This keyboard is in the class of $100 keyboards. The construction quality is great, the keys have excellent back lighting and the typing feels really good. The keys have just the right amount of resistance and don't feel mushy or rattly. The light doesn't leak out and the keyboard looks clean. Anti-ghosting is an excellent feature. Six macro keys. Overall, this is clearly one of the best options for this price range and even better than some more expensive $80-$100 keyboards.
Cons: This isn't really a con for me, but the keys do make a slight tapping noise when being pressed. This doesn't bother me because its not loud, but very picky people might take notice. The fact that the keys have a solid, good feel to them, the sound is even less of a concern.
Overall Review: This keyboard is a little bit longer than some might think, even though its glossy black and low profile. The back lighting is excellent and you can set it dimmer or brighter. Wrist pad has a cool mesh design and its small enough not to bother you. Anti-ghosting makes sure you don't miss keystrokes or combinations and is crucial for gamers and typing alike!
Top Notch
Pros: Patriot specializes in memory. They know what they're doing. This Xporter Flash Drive is faster than most on the market. Awesome price at $22. They have the 4GB, 8GB, 16GB and the 32GB Flash Drives. I think they even make a 64GB. If you want maximum performance from this thing, format it to NTFS instead of FAT32. You will see performance gains, HOWEVER, if you switch to NTFS, be sure you click "eject" on the Patriot icon in "My Computer" before removing it. With FAT32 its optimized for quick removal. With NTFS its optimized for max performance but has to be "ejected" before removal (or data loss can occur). In order to allow it to format in NTFS, you need to go to the device manager, click on disk drives, and right click the Patriot flash drive, then go to properties, then policies, and you will have the option for "performance". Read it.
Cons: None. You cant complain about a fast, quality 8GB Flash Drive that costs $22.
Overall Review: Stores charge over $50-60 at the least for 8GB Flash Drives which are still of inferior quality.
