Very pleased so far

Hitachi GST Travelstar 7K200 HTS722020K9SA00 (0A50940) 200GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 1.5Gb/s 2.5" Notebook Hard Drive Bare Drive
Hitachi GST Travelstar 7K200 HTS722020K9SA00 (0A50940) 200GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 1.5Gb/s 2.5" Notebook Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Well, I've had this only a week but love it. Installed in a Panasonic Toughbook CF-74, replacing a 5400 rpm Seagate. I can't believe how much faster this is than the 5400 rpm Seagate I've been using. It also runs cool and quiet. I know it runs cool because when I formatted it via USB connection, I deliberately did not select quick format, which took quite a while to complete. I then cloned the existing drive onto this new one, again via USB cable, and again the clone took a long time. I could feel and hear the naked disk and was very impressed at how cool and quiet it was during formatting and cloning. Upon installation into the laptop, no spin noise and no vibration, and very little sound from the seek-arm moving. After installation, Speedtest showed pristine S.M.A.R.T data and rated the disk at 100% quality and 100% performance. At this point only time will tell if this is as good as all of the rest of the Hitachi 2.5" drives I have installed.

Cons: None so far.

Overall Review: A year and a half ago, I had tried a Seagate Momentus 7200 rpm drive for this laptop, and the thing was awful. Really noisy and vibrated awfully, like it was out of balance. I hated the way my laptop vibrated from the thing, and sent it back to Newegg, and was really turned off to 7200 rpm drives for laptops. I'm really glad I gave the 7200 rpms another chance. (I've also had other, new 5400 rpm Seagate laptop drives die within weeks, so I'm going to stick exclusively with Hitachi drives for laptops from now on. I still like Seagate 3.5" drives, though. They seem to be quite good devices.) Another thought is that if you get a disk that vibrates really badly or otherwise is really noisy when you first activate it or soon thereafter, then the disk is defective and should be exchanged immediately.

decent product but almost useless without From 8915-F support

H&R Block 2022 Deluxe + State Win Tax Software Download
H&R Block 2022 Deluxe + State Win Tax Software Download

Pros: decent product

Cons: but almost useless without From 8915-F support without Form 8915-F, requires one to download fillable 8915-F from IRS site, fill that out, and then override 1040 4B with the results, and THEN print the return, add in printed copy of From 8915-F, and them mail in the entire return to IRS ...

Overall Review: don't buy if you need Form 8915-F and aren't willing to do what i put in the Cons section ...

works great with windows 7!

H&R Block 2023 Deluxe + State Software - PC/Mac - Download
H&R Block 2023 Deluxe + State Software - PC/Mac - Download

Pros: download from newegg and installation were easy-peasy on Windows 7 with no hitches free state tax addon downloaded from H&R website and installed easily too almost finished with 2023 taxes; just waiting for schwab to complete all of their online tax forms before direct importing into H&R desktop program ... will then direct submit to IRS for free ... have used H&R desktop for years ever since i got tired of Intuit trying to screw their turbotax customers in one fashion or another EVERY year ...

Cons: none

Overall Review: would recommend to others and will continue to use every year as long as it continues to work on windows 7 ...

Installed just fine on Windows 7!

H&R Block 2021 Deluxe + State - Windows - Download
H&R Block 2021 Deluxe + State - Windows - Download

Pros: for those wondering, h&r block deluxe+state installed, updates, and functions just fine on Windows 7 on my system!

Cons: major problem right now (3/13/2022) though, is H&R block still can't import from Schwab, but i understand turbotax has the same problem, so it appears schwab is at fault ... nonetheless, best to wait until the bitter end anyway to file as errors and updates continued to come in at the last moment for 2020 ...

Overall Review: would recommend .

This is the real deal, and it's hard to find right now

Crucial 4GB Single DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200) 260-Pin SODIMM Memory - CT4G4SFS824A
Crucial 4GB Single DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200) 260-Pin SODIMM Memory - CT4G4SFS824A

Pros: Purchased to add 4GB to existing 4GB in Dell E5580. Crucial is out of stock for this. Dell is out of stock for their Hynix Dell Certified RAM and is trying to pawn off second rate RAM like VisionTek that's not even DDR4-2400 if you try to order this particular upgrade from Dell. This Crucial RAM has the exact same specs as the Hynix/Dell RAM that came with the E5580. After installing beside the existing RAM, I ran Memtest86 v7.5 for 12 hour without error.

Cons: none so far

Update on Warranty Issue

DELL Desktop PC OptiPlex 3020 (462-3548) Intel Core i5-4570 4GB DDR3 500GB HDD Intel HD Graphics 4600 Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit
DELL Desktop PC OptiPlex 3020 (462-3548) Intel Core i5-4570 4GB DDR3 500GB HDD Intel HD Graphics 4600 Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit

Pros: Recently a question arose about the warranty on these machines because checking the service tag on the public Dell website right now shows only a 1 year warranty. However, Newegg is absolutely correct: these 3020s DO have the 3 year onsite Dell Pro warranty. I called Dell Warranty support (and got a U.S. rep.) and he looked up the warranty for me on one of the machines I bought, and it IS 3 years. He told me the website people have been making some "upgrades" and that is probably the source of the errors: they've incorrectly linked to the warranty database for the public-facing website display. He said he would report the problem to the proper department and hopefully they'll fix it. But bottom line, this machine DOES have a rock solid 3 year Dell warranty!

Cons: Could use a couple more USB ports on the front.
