Nice Freenas box

Pros: Installed the .7.4347 alpha version and the drivers for the on board nic are included, and worked great. This is paired with a 64mb cf card for the os, WD 1TB Green and 2 gig Kingston RAM and runs better then I expected. I never had the single core version of this box, but to me compared to a full size pc this things is very quiet. Got here in one day, New Jersey to Maryland
Cons: Same old complaint, you have to remove the motherboard to install the compact flash card. For freenas its best to use the CF card, but its only 5 screws. Would rather have a cage for 2 hard drives and ditch the cdrom cover, but that's personal preference.
Overall Review: As pointed out by other reviewers the wireless antena and gromet for going through the case are included, but the card is not. Its not totally clear from the specs if its there or not (shame on you Newegg). Not sure about using this for smoothwall, not enough network cards and no real way to add them.
If you have nforce4 board think twice about this drive

Pros: decent price for a sataII drive newegg got it here fast
Cons: These Maxtor drive seem to have some kind of problem with Nforce based boards. I can only make it run in 150 mode on a a8n-sli deluxe. Maxtor wont come clean that there is a problem. So i am stuck with a drive i cant use to its potential.
Overall Review: I have allways like maxtor but i think they are wrong for acting like there is no problem.
Great case

Overall Review: This case is large and easy to work in. It's also quiet which was not a requirement for my application but nice. I only have 6 SAS drives and 2 ssd's in the case but it is staying cool The wire management is good also.
Green Giant

Pros: Great price, performance for a green drive. Put this drive into a freenas setup, runs cool and fast enough for drive that doesn't get beat up 24/7. As for the DOA reviews no problem here and haven't had a WD fail since the dreaded WD 40gig.
Cons: None so far.
Overall Review: It wasn't free.
Decent performance

Pros: Price was just right for a charity build for basic users. The machine this is going into wont see very heavy use and a dual core would be a waste of money and power. Like other reviewers I find the thermals very good. The fan barely runs on this thing and it is pretty snappy for what it is. I has choked once or twice when I was doing multiple things when setting it up for the users, but I expect that from a single core. I would buy one again for the same kind of user without hesitation.
Cons: Not much of a jump up to a dual core, but if you don't need it money saved it money saved especially when I am building a free machine for someone.
Overall Review: You should all build a free machine for someone who needs it, you will feel better for doing it. And you get to build something even though you don't need it.
Fourth time still a charm

Pros: This is the fourth time I have bought A-Data memory and have had zero issues from them. I used this in a charity build for some light users together with a AMD Athlon 64 LE-1640 single core, GIGABYTE GA-M61PME-S2, APEX TM-302 Case. With the first press of the power button the system posted and has zero issues for the last week. Of the four times I have used this memory three of them have been with Gigabyte boards the other was in an Asus board.
Cons: Nome so far.
Overall Review: For the money this is a happy medium between price and memory size.
