Post RMA follow up
Pros: Replaced with working stick within 4 business days.
Cons: Original stick was bad.
Overall Review: I commend G skill on their RMA process. The package was delivered on 5/23 and I received my replacement on 5/28(after memorial day weekend). Excellent work Gskill, thanks for standing by your product.
Pretty sweet
Pros: Fast migration(used samsungs tool) substantial increase in boot/load times big enough to support all of my games, OS etc. scores 7.9 in WEI( windows7) getting about 500 read and about ~200 write
Cons: Since i was not doing a fresh install of windows I had to use windows drive tools to format the drive. Its no ones fault, so no eggs taken off- just something to be conscious of if you are buying the drive.
Overall Review: Overall i think this is a great drive comes as 223gb when formatted.
Not a bad deal
Pros: For a refurb drive i expected more cosmetic damage, dents..dings..water damage..but no. This drive was immaculate. i guess its a lottery in the end. Writes at the USB 2.0 standard(30mbs) and does require an additional power cord. Also, its light and fits in my pocket.
Cons: N/A
Impressed
Pros: Great cooling given my overclock. Came with extra fan brackets, universal.
Cons: Sorta a pain to install, the instructions were not very clear at times so i had to infer what to do.
Overall Review: forget the price, im impressed. Right now my 3770k, in a mid tower case, is running 71c, while overclocked 500mhz. Mind you, this is during a prime95 stress test. With that said, im running between 68-72c on max load, and 71-74c when clocked at 4.5ghz. i have no remorse buying this cooler, however, it is massive. I had to remove a fan from the side of my case to make it fit, but it worked out, im now using that fan with the standard fan on the heatsink.
Post RMA
Pros: Asus RMA sent a brand new router
Cons: Router failed after 12 months
Overall Review: Strangely after i first reviewed this product, it failed. However, ASUS instructed me to ship them my dead router, and a few days later they informed me it would be uneconimcal to repair it. They then informed me they would be shipping me a brand new one- which they did. The router sent is actually new, not a refurb. A+ to asus tech support for standing by their product!
Surprised!
Pros: XFAST ram actually works, and is quite helpful. USB 3.0 easy overclocking via their utility, both in bios and windows came with SLI bridge, and sata6 cables Installs windows quickly via USB/LAN
Cons: REQUIRES LAN DRIVERS FROM ASROCK!
Overall Review: I used this board to build a new rig, and im actually glad i didnt listen to some people saying ASRock isnt "that great". I can say that given the 2 days of ownership this board is really living up to what is promised. As stated before XFAST ram works, and works well. I dont use the other XFAST products as I dont have a need. I gave this 5stars despite the LAN issue because they included a driver disk, I just could not use it. Overall, with my 3770k overclocked to about 4.4ghz, this motherboard is handling it like a pro. I am very pleased. If anything goes wrong I will definitely review again. ALSO: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO INSTALL WINDOWS VIA USB 3.0! IT WILL NOT WORK!
