Higher quality than expected

XClio SS035 5 x 3.5" HDD in 3 x 5.25" Cage
XClio SS035 5 x 3.5" HDD in 3 x 5.25" Cage

Pros: Very solid product. The drives do not go offline intermittently like full hot swap cages can do. It can handle drive error other host based signals through the two wire sets provided. It has a full set of LEDs for proper Raid signaling. It's stable and works and keeps the drives cool. I was hesitant to use it because I was leaning toward the caddie-less cages until I installed it and it worked so well.

Cons: The fan just snaps on the back which can be a good thing as long as it stays on. I haven't had any trouble with mine. All of these cages need to go to a 120mm fan on back to remain quiet and keep the drives cool. It's fan sticks out the back a little to much to be used near a full length graphics card. It should be shorter. I'm hoping for a sata iii version.

Overall Review: Don't over look this cage. It's one of the best on the market. If you must have a tray less cage the only other stab SAS / SATA 5 bay cage is the SNT SNT-SAC3051TL.

Good Board Bad support

ASUS P7P55D Deluxe LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS P7P55D Deluxe LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: When functioning correctly this is a very good board. It has 3 PCI-e slots which I need. One for the ASUS Nvidia ENGTX465 and two for Adaptec SAS disk controllers. It overclocks easy to 3.36Ghz when water cooled and runs very stable.

Cons: The memory slots don't always work. I have purchased more than one of these boards and 2 came in and worked with the G.Skill DDR3-2200 (PC3-17600) memory perfectly. One board will only see 4GB or two slots out of 4 for 8GB. I sent it back to Asus support. They didnt fix it or anything just sent it back to me. Still with two bad slots saying nothings wrong with the board. It wont see 8GBs with 4 chips only 4GB with 2 chips. This is my third build with this board and ASUS claims its not the board. I have two other computers running perfectly with the exact same memory and hardware but this one wont work. I hope you dont get a board with bad chip slots because Asus support will not fix or replace it.

Overall Review: Asus support is terrible. I cant tell you how many hours I have wasted trying to get this board fixed or replaced. I send it to them and they send it back saying nothing is wrong with it. I tell them that this is only board that is having this problem and they claim it is the CPU. Give me a break. This is the third computer I have built with this board. The first two did not have a broken or malfunctioning memory chip slot. I don't know what to do but try to find a different board manufacturer with better support. I hope you don't have broken memory slots.

SANS DIGITAL TowerRAID TR4UTP 0, 1, 10, 3, 5, Clone (N-way Mirror) with Hot Spare, and JBOD 4 x Hot-Swappable 3.5" Drive Bays USB 3.0 (backward compatible with USB 2.0) and eSATA 4 Bay USB 3.0 / eSATA Hardware RAID 5 Tower w/ 6G PCIe 2.0 HB

Pros: I really liked the specs on this unit. It was just what I was Looking for In a light raid drive enclosure. USB 3.0 and e-sata plus 4drive bay. It was easy to install and had good front indicators.

Cons: I tried 4 Samsung drive, 4 seagate drives I tried different combinations like three drives only but it would not work. It wool never show up under disk management in Windows XP or Windows 7. So disappointing. Now I have to RMA it back to Newegg as a damaged drive. That's what I think happened because it had no shipment packaging only the store box.

Overall Review: I really wanted this drive to work.

HIgh Hopes

OCZ Z Series 1000W Modular 80PLUS Gold High Performance Power Supply compatible with Intel Haswell Core i3/i5/i7 and AMD Phenom
OCZ Z Series 1000W Modular 80PLUS Gold High Performance Power Supply compatible with Intel Haswell Core i3/i5/i7 and AMD Phenom

Pros: 80 Plus Gold Certified

Cons: DOA

Overall Review: I've never had a PSU be the shipped part that is DOA. After a few hours of work and I couldn't get power to the mobo I pulled the OCZ1000 80 plus gold and put in an Antec 750 blue I had from a prior build just to see if it was a PSU problem. Power and Computer booted right up. I had high hopes and still think this could have been just one bad egg instead of a trend on OCZ's part.
