ASUS G75 Series - 17.3" - Intel Core i7-3610QM - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670M - 12 GB DDR3 - 500GB HDD - Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit - Gaming Laptop (G75VW-NS71 )
ASUS G75 Series - 17.3" - Intel Core i7-3610QM - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670M - 12 GB DDR3 - 500GB HDD - Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit - Gaming Laptop (G75VW-NS71 )

Pros: Ivy Bridge CPU - 3rd fastest GPU - Price - Looks - Feel - Sound above average - Screen best I have ever seen - Back-lit keyboard.

Cons: A bug in sound software where the sub does not decrease in volume as the main speakers do until you hit zero then it jumps down, but it does go up ok . Some bloatware not a lot but I don't like any of that.

Overall Review: This Laptop is selling like crazy everywhere that's why it goes out of stock so quick. I received this laptop free of defects , I also ordered a samsung 128GB ssd which I installed in the free drive bay, after I tested the computer to make sure it was ok I formatted and installed win 7 to the ssd and made the 500GB a data drive. I installed Battlefield 3 to the ssd and set everything to high then set a few things to Ultra along with Ambient Occlusion to HBAO, It is running between 40-50 FPS that's better than my desktop 560 nvidia. This computer has just what you need and not a bunch of extras that just cost money for no gain. it is worth it to add a ssd it just makes everything load so fast. This is not just a gaming computer but not many laptops will run the newest games this good and still be this cool and very low noise, it just looks very sleek and not flashy. The 670m GPU should last years as it only needs 75 watts , this was a wise move by Asus. I rate this a 10.

Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model BL2KIT12864AA80A
Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model BL2KIT12864AA80A

Pros: Gives you something to do when it goes bad.

Cons: Will not last , no matter how many sets you get.

Overall Review: I bought this memory because of the brand I had always thought they were great all there Older memory was great. this is the 2nd set that has went bad on me, it's the replacments for the first set that are now bad. It's working about 9-10 months each time, this computer runs about 20 hours a week. I will not pay shipping for replacements again. I will just eat the cost and not ever buy anymore crucial again. Too much trouble.

Another Great Intel CPU

Intel Core i5-6500 - Core i5 6th Gen Skylake Quad-Core 3.2 GHz LGA 1151 65W Intel HD Graphics 530 Desktop Processor - BX80662I56500
Intel Core i5-6500 - Core i5 6th Gen Skylake Quad-Core 3.2 GHz LGA 1151 65W Intel HD Graphics 530 Desktop Processor - BX80662I56500

Pros: Price point to Performance is very good. Intel warranty. Runs very cool & quiet. How many people have had problems with retail Intel CPU's very very few ever, it's the one PC part that you just know will work.

Cons: No overclocking this model, you'll have to pay more to do that.

Overall Review: With the money you save buying this over a i7, you can buy a better GPU like a deal on the Nvidia 970 and have a nice mid range system, Using this chip you should be able to build a very fast system for less than a grand.

Overall it's Worth it.

Windows 8.1 64-bit
Windows 8.1 64-bit

Pros: Benchmarks & Feels Faster in Desktop mode than Win 7. Some games like Battlefield 4 Run Smoother. Much faster Start-up More Secure..

Cons: Price, show be no more than 29.99 If you like Win 7, Then you need to shell out 5$ more for the StarDock program to make the interface more like Win 7. Will take you to Tile Mode if you don't change defaults for for things like viewing a .jpeg. Have seen 2 times the OS crash for someone else, and it trashed all the data.

Overall Review: Yea Win 8.1 is Faster and uses memory much better. But the interface is so different, and many like the Old one better. Also there does seem to be some type of problem with the new restore feature for some people but not many.

Fast & Great size

ASUS Laptop K42 Series Intel Core i5-480M 4GB Memory 500GB HDD AMD Radeon HD 6470M 14.0" Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit K42JY-A1

Pros: CPU is a i5 GPU is Radeon HD 6470 Hard Drive is 7200 rpm 500GB Very nice looking. Overall very fast for this price range. Fan has moved to the left side.

Cons: Bloatware will take some time to remove.

Overall Review: 2nd Asus notebook. The other is a N80vn will be 3 years old in 3 months, never a problem.

Maybe for you May not.

WD USB 2.0 WD TV HD Media Player WDBABF0000NBK-NESN
WD USB 2.0 WD TV HD Media Player WDBABF0000NBK-NESN

Pros: Plays ripped DVD's Perfect. Small, easy hookup to tv. Menu screen 7 out of 10. Remote works good to at least 10'. cheaper than a netbook. Can play Music & photo slide show at the same time. It will play MVK and most other formats.

Cons: Downloaded movies from bit torrent or ripped blu-rays may or may-not play right , it's the sound, a sync problem and it's random, sometimes you can pause and that fixes it sometimes not. I wish the main screen was just a little better setup, but compared to other brands it one of the best.

Overall Review: I was very upset some of my files did not play right. I learned encoding must be error free or you will have problems sometime, DVD's are that way. Even Blu-ray players have some problems right now, just like DVD players when they first came out. To put a faster chip inside this unit would have made the price double, but it would have error corrected files better. If you rip a dvd using dvdfab then you should not have any problems. it does play very high quality High Def video if encoded very good. it's worth 100 but not more. I have gen V.2
