good for xmbc (kodi), bad for freenas
Pros: Video and cpu good enough for media player. I used Openelec which is embedded xbmc (new name kodi) that one can install on flash drive . No noise, power consumption is little.
Cons: Network adapter (NIC) doesn't work on freebsd based nas4free and freenas systems. only 2 SATA ports.
Overall Review: It is possible to make a recent FreeBSD snapshot and make NIC (network) on FreeBSD system work but it is not a piece of cake as well it won't be an embedded system that one can install on a flashdrive and keep SATA ports for data.
Rebate is joke
Pros: None
Cons: I have bought 3 fans. Fill out and sent all required items for 3x$10 =$30 rebate. They sent me check for $5. Cooler master brand doesn't exist for me any more.
good for small backup server
Pros: Slim, tiny size. Notebook power adapter can be used as a power supply. Lots of USB connections. WIFI card.
Cons: Tried to install Openelec (xbmc (new name kodi) based embedded media player. It works but have well know problem with Intel Graphics. Without using hardware acceleration it is too slow to play 1080p video. Minus 1 egg.
Overall Review: I've build a tiny backup server (booksize) based on nas4free system on a flashdrive and two 3 TB hard drives. This board actually has 3 SATA ports but only 2 SATA power cables. Third cable is for mSATA.
don't count on rebate
Pros: none
Cons: I have submitted all requested documents but didn't get rebate. After contacting to them (it was really hard) they said that I already claimed it but I'm not. They used one promo offer code for different rebates on different items. So I didn't get rebate for their mistake.
DOA
Pros: Free after rebate
Cons: Doesn't work
rebate is a joke
Pros: Silent, powerful enough, many connections
Cons: Problems with rebate. I have several PSUs and I measured current during mild work and idle (soft power off). For my build all PSUs consumes about the same current (700-800 mA) during mild work but here the results of idle consumption: Old Dell250W (62)mA Austin300W (81) mA Cooler Master 500W (61)mA OCZ 600W (60) mA Corsair430W (90) mA
